Good morning ladies... How are you all doing???

I didn't have much time to be here yesterday but... I just want to check in today so you know that Natalia is still shy to come out he he he... (I can't wait!!!!) and to update you about the MW appt. I had yesterday!

I was just sharing with skunkers that DH and I went to visit our friend who had her baby in the same hospital where we have our appointments and where I will have Natalia too... it was like a "glance" to my near future LOL! ... I got really nervous though... I didn't even want to carry her baby! .... [sadashamed] that's not good! DH didn't want to either... I just felt so overwhelmed by the whole thing! excited, happy, nervous, afraid and all the feelings you can imagine..

Then I had my appointment with the MW... there is no news... Everything is the same... I gained 2 pounds, the baby's heart sounds fine and that's it... I think I started having some contractions though... I think I had never had contractions... because what I felt yesterday was different... so probably in the past there were no contractions and I just was confused... who knows...

So, not big news!

FIL thinks the baby will be born on Monday.... I hope so!

we will see!

Love,

Paloma.

Monday would be awesome! That's my Dd's bday!! :-D

I'm glad your apt went well and that baby is looking happy in there!!!
I'm sorry you kind of freaked out at the hospital. I found that once I got into labor, my natural instincts kicked in and I just went with the flow....not much more you can do when laboring, it kind of takes your mind away from most things! I just encourage you to keep your eyes on the Lord, remember that we can do ALL things through Christ Jesus and He will give you the strength you need. He opened your womb and He has brought you here where you will be birthing your baby.......He will be with you! He promises that!! :-D What a blessing huh?

I can't wait to hear that your have had your little girl....they are amazing little creatures!!!

Blessings,
Amber

Congratulations you are almost there! Don't let it worry you about carrying or holding the baby. I never felt comfortable holding tiny babies until I had DS. There is just something about it when it is yours that helps you feel more comfortable. My DH was the first one to see, touch and hold our son and he was pretty much a pro at it. I felt more confident about holding him than I thought I would too. One thing I learned, he loved to be "pounded" on the back. He was never a burper then and I would walk and rock and as long as I patted his back and firmly too, he was happy and would go to sleep. Just remember use your palm, not your fingers. Fingers can sting.

Don't worry about all the emotions involved with not wanting to hold your friends baby, it's normal. You will do awesome, you'll grab Natalia up and not want to let her go, I promise! ;) I'm glad everything is looking good. I went from no change at all to 3cm dilated to going into labor a week later and being fully dilated within an hour or so of my water breaking! Hang in there!

You'll be holding Natalia before you know it and all your fears will just wash away. Hubby's sometimes are nervous with newborns, at least mine was with each one. Just they seemed so fragile to him and he was hesitant to hold them at first. Slowly he got over it.

My hubby loved the age where they could sit up on their own, where I loved the newborn stage. There will be a range of emotions and just don't worry about all of them they are normal for a new parent. I know you'll do great Paloma, your warm personality shines through in your posts, you'll do great!

Sounds like things are just as they should be! Natalia will be here soon!

Ditto what the others said about holding babies....things will just click for you once she is born. Just like Jessy said, you won't want to let her go! :D
