Well Matilda Sienna was one week old exactly yesterday.
We had a bit of a dash to the hospital last night because she had what we discovered, after 3 Drs looked at her, was a contact allergy we suspect from a new sheepskin she had been laying on in her rocker.
Intially we thought it was a fever but her temperature was fine and we weren't going to sit at home with her that way without getting her checked over. They said she was a very healthy baby.
She still grunts and opens her mouth when "demanding" a feed which is really endearing and funny ...
She's a pretty relaxed baby just like DS was.
At first she freaked out over bathtime and being undressed but now she lays in the bath all relaxed looking dreamy listening to me talk to her.
The dressing doesn't worry her either...
DH is very doting towards her and likes to pick her up for conversations.
The kids touch and talk to her, but at the moment she's not that interesting to them.
We had issues with them wanting to "play" with her (or asking too rather) and going up to her and making her arms "dance" but we've sorted that one out quick smart LOL. They seem to enjoy helping as in running for nappies for me etc.
There has been a couple of times where DD has muttered comments like "stupid baby" when I have had to ask her to wait for me to be able to help her out with something and DH has been out of the room. She usually is fine in her attitude the moment I ask her to help me do something though.
The CD's I have are fantastic too, no complaints there! I really especially love the Fluffies!
It;s been great having DH around to play Mr Mum and clean etc.
he;s been doing things like playing calm music for me on the CD player and pretty much all house duties except the washing which I am doing.
It;s been such a blessing having him here because when I had the twins as NBs I had NO ONE! He has 3 weeks which is just such a blessing!!!
We are all in a state of holiday and we are all lounging around in our PJ's and doing slack stuff like that LOL.
We took Matilda and the kids to the local Carnival on Saturday and after the kids enjoyed a few rides, we took them swimming in the estuary near by. I find if I use the pram as a kind of "walking frame" I feel more stable (after having had my caesarian, I mean).
It wasn't stressful at all taking Matilda out, she seemed to enjoy the feel of the breeze and the kids loved getting some sort of sense of normality back into their life (we take them out a LOT).
We are taking the kids out to buy craft supplies after lunch and going to have a family craft session. I am so paranoid about appearing too "taken up" with the baby to them.
I am not in any pain anymore, except getting up in the morning is still a little stiff, and the scar pinches a bit. DH put the cot right next to our bed so I use the rails of the cot to pull myself up but I am really not on any pain meds anymore - YES!
Given the problems Dr Greenland discovered during the operation I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lucky VBAC wasn't an option otherwise I might have "gone there" with bad consequences. The pain is well worth "little Button"
Everyone keeps saying what a pretty baby she is too... which is very flattering! She looks more like DS and really has some expressions belonging to DH in her eyes especially.
Oh yeah, did anyone else find that when you got home and you saw your other kids, you were like "YOU ARE MASSIVE" compaired to the baby.
Especially when they put their heads in my lap. They look like giants LOL.
Oh and the best news - my sister and her b/f got engaged on Friday night! Praise God! She is so happy, she's been waiting for a man for so long.
Anyway this is just an update albeit a very loooong one.
Thanks for all your prayers!
