My mil has liked to get the boys magazine subscriptions for Christmas. My grandma sent them Highlights but they didn't care for it (a few years ago) and then recently mil has had Ranger Rick and Your Big Backyard sent to the boys. They have enjoyed these but oldest ds was reading part of his to dad last night and dad wasn't liking it too much so we want to fine something else that mil can send them when this subscription runs out.

Just curious, but what was dad not liking about Ranger Rick? AFAIK, they always steer clear of most topics like evolution and such...

Dh said we're all for taking care of our environment and nature but the magazine almost makes it out to sound like we should worship nature and dh isn't into that. We worship GOD who created all this nature, we don't worship nature.

That's just dh's opinion.

I don't know how old your boys are, but they have a new highlights magazine that is all puzzles/mind benders for ages 4-6....I don't like highlights the regular magazine either, but this is really fun and my little guy LOVES it because he can DO the entire magazine instead of just read/look at pictures mostly....

my boys are 6, 5 & 3. I get them the mag Little Kids National Geographics.
they really like it and there are fun activities to do as well as stories of animals/countries.

My oldest will be 10 in Dec. and younger ds is 6. I was looking at the National Geographic kids as that looked interesting.

Our son gets the Thomas magazine and the Your Big Backyard as well as something from Highlights, but it is where you find the hidden objects and place stickers on them and stuff.

Can you tell his Gram ma loves to send him magazines? :)
