Today is a bit of a rough day. Practically every time I get up/walk anywhere I am contracting. Just braxton hicks - the annoying kind, not painful - but the frequency has really kicked up a few notches today for some reason. 33weeks is when I went to the hospital last time round in false labour and then the more bothersome/painful BH contractions continued daily and nightly until dd was born one day before her due date. I'm not worried about this baby arriving early, but I had been hoping that things would kinda stay at the status quo for a few more weeks. sigh. Oh well. So I'm just trying to take it easy today. Hopefully it is just an off day and tomorrow will settle down.

Wow, I just realized how far along you are, time flies! Sorry things are starting up so soon, I will be praying that things settle back down. It's probably harder to take it easy having the two olders but I pray you find time to rest a bit!

drink lots of water, take a warm shower & rest.
If they get stronger or more regular OR you are getting more than 4 an hour....give your DR/MW a call.

Thanks gals. I'm trying to increase my water intake. Dh is out at a church meeting tonight so I think I might try out our soaker tub tonight. I haven't had a chance to since we moved in. I'll have to go searching through the basement to see if I have a book to read.

Hugs and prayers being sent Kim. I hope things settle down for you. Agreeing with the others that hydration is key. I hope you're able to get bits of rest, laying on your left side is best (but you probably knew that already). Keep us posted!

Ooh! A soaker tub! Does it have jets? I miss my big tub from our last house...

WoW! Amazing! I don't have any contractions... just pain in my pelvic area... but I guess that's all part of carrying the baby and being so low now... :)

Take care Kim... Keep us informed! :)

Paloma.

Sadly, no. lol. But it is very deep and very wide. I'd never even seen one this big before we got this house.

As for an update, I did have a nice long soak in the tub last night. Very relaxing, although I now know I need to invest in some kind of tub pillow. (Probably just one of those inflatable ones?? I don't know....I'll have to go see what the stores have.) Contractions completely disappeared while I was soaking, so that was really good. Curled up in the guest room to watch tv afterwards (figured the bed in there would be more comfy than the couch downstairs, and then I wouldn't have to climb stairs if the kids needed me.) All was well for another hour or so and then the contractions set in again. Not really sure what precipitated that since all I had been doing for the previous 2 hours was resting and drinking water. *shrug*

Dh and mutually agreed that I would rest this morning to discourage the contractions from returning, and this morning was quiet. I have had only a few contractions since getting up to make lunch. So today is getting better.

On a side note, this little one NEVER stops moving it seems! Of course there are quiet periods of time when he/she is sleeping, but othewise it is constant, crazy movement. Dh tends to stay up later than me, and he told me last night that even when I am sleeping, he notices lots of activity. Enough to make him wonder how I could possibly sleep through it! This is definitely our most active baby so far, although thankfully not as fierce as dd was.

Isn't that awesome that you can tell what kind of child you're going to have before they're even born?!

OK, maybe in this case, you're not looking forward to all the running around after him/her. Oops.

I totally hear ya. I have been there for a while too. I actually made a comment to my midwife at my 32 week apt that I wasn't having the BH like I did the last two pgs, and what do you know, the moment I got into the car, they started. Haven't really stopped yet, and are getting super strong.

I will keep you in prayer my sister. The Lord tells us to rejoice in all things...and sometimes it's hard to rejoice when you can't breath/walk/or sit. We just have to keep our eyes on the most wonderful things......that we will one day get to hold that little one causing so much rukus!! :-D

blessings,
amber

I am curious to see how much of this crazy activity will translate into the personality of this little one once born, Sarah. Could be that things are going to get really interesting around here! lol

Thanks, Amber. You are completely right. (And what a rukus this one is creating! lol)
