my oldest who is 8 started competitive swimming this summer. her practices are 1 hour mon - fri. and she will have a total of 5 swim meets(all on Sat) during the summer. She loves it so much that she wants to do it suring the school year. practices are only 3 times a week, one being on sat. and there is 1 swim meet in Dec.
she is on the honor roll at school, and being at a Chirstian private school the circ. is alot harder than public school.
hubby and I were thinking that we would let her try, but if it is too much and her marks drop, then she will need to stop. she also would have Awana, one night a week.
how many sports or extra activities do your kids do during the school year.

It gets so overwhelming! My daughter just entered 2nd grade. She does dance 1 hr/wk, Awana 1 day/wk, Good News Club (a christian club at school) 1 day/wk, she did soccer last spring 2 practices/wk and games on Saturdays, and Church on Sundays...
She wants to do gymnastics and piano lessons, singing lessons and girl scouts. I said that is just too much. I dont want her to be in too many things and I like that she wants to do the christian activities, so I am not willing to take her out of those ones to put her in something else.
I only have one in school right now, how do people with 2, 3, 4 kids in school get it all done?

hubby and i decided that we let K swim twice week, one week day ( from 5-6 pm) and sat (early morn for 1 hour) she will also be doing awanas.
J will be doing swimming lessons (1/2 hr once a week), awanas and indoor soccer, sat morn for 1 hour)
G will be doing swimming lessons ( 1/2 hr once a week), awanas
we will see how it goes.

two out of three of my boys will be in school full time this fall, and playing soccer this year. this is all new for me, so i am taking it one day at a time, and one sport at a time!!!
i cannot believe what equipment costs, and they may not even like it!
my two boys that will be in soccer, are 5 and 6. so they are on two different teams. each team has their own practice and game schedules. i don't know how i will do it, but i will try.

I would think that because they are so close in age that they would be on the same team...maybe next year? (4/5 or 6/7)

they are on separate teams because there were so many kids signed up this year. they have 7 kindegarten teams alone!!
hopefully next year. The year after that, my third son will be sport-ready!
eek!
