View Full Version : Which name for a boy? BlessedMommy 08-02-2008, 06:07 PM Vote on the poll. :D LadyLavender 08-02-2008, 06:24 PM I love Caleb! A great name, and the Biblical story of Caleb is sooo cool! How neat to be named after a man who was so on fire for God even in his old age! :-D Jessy 08-02-2008, 06:28 PM Caleb! I love the name Caleb, in fact Payton would have been Caleb but a nephew got the name first. Godzgirl 08-02-2008, 06:55 PM I love the name Caleb! That's what i wanted to name my ds but my dh wouldn't go with it so we agreed on Ethan. ;) Micah John is also nice, seems to flow well. irishmum2boys 08-02-2008, 11:42 PM Well I am a little biased on this one :-D I voted for Micah John, which is actually our 2nd ds's name :) But I also thought Micah Timothy was really nice. kim 08-02-2008, 11:46 PM I voted Micah John. I tend to prefer shorter middle names. (Although if this next baby is a girl, I'll be breaking my own rule since we use family middle names.) Timmys mom 08-03-2008, 11:22 AM I love the name Micah, and I thought John went with it better. JoyLynn 08-03-2008, 03:57 PM I love Micah and Joshua! Beautiful names, Ruth! If we'd had another boy, we would have named him Joshua Aaron. That won't be happening for us, though. You can't go wrong with any of those names, Ruth. They're all lovely and meaningful! :-D [lovesign] Joy [welcomewave] NZMummy 08-03-2008, 05:51 PM I love your taste in boys names - very similar to mine. I like all of the names listed especially Micah and Joshua (I've already used the latter for ds). Micah John sounds particuarly good together. GenLovesDen4ever 08-04-2008, 03:34 AM Well, Im a little biased too, I chose Joshua, One of my favourite boy names EVER! I also liked the name Caleb but dh didnt like it either, lol. And at first he didnt like Joshua so much, but I dont know if it was the fact that he felt sorry for me after watching me deliver that boy, he gave him the name I wanted, bless. It would have been Nathan, but like I said, he must have felt reeeaaaly bad watching me give birth and went with the name I had chosen. That was so sweet bc he wasnt sure at all about the name. I vote Joshua. Ren 08-04-2008, 03:48 PM I love the name Micah, and I thought John went with it better. Yup I agree- John was a better sounding fit. Eva 08-04-2008, 06:37 PM I voted for Micah John cuz that's my ds's name:-D It's a good one. momof3now 08-04-2008, 07:27 PM I love the name Micah!! I wanted it for our ds, but my Dh's name is Michael, so too close! I voted for Micah Timothy because I really like Timothy as well! Skunkers 08-04-2008, 10:17 PM I like the names you picked. Myself I'd likely skip Micah & Joshua due to the nicknames they often end up with. (Mike & Josh) I did vote for Josh though, I do love that name. danou 08-04-2008, 10:31 PM well Ruth- I'm partial to Joshua (for obvious reasons)... and I also love Caleb. Micah I like less- however out of the two Micah's I prefer Micah John. BlessedMommy 03-17-2009, 06:13 PM Resurrecting this thread, lol. Well, we did end up naming him the name with highest # of votes, ironically. Thanks for your feedback ladies! [rofl] Cheryl 03-17-2009, 07:13 PM I like all the names, so my choice would depend on how many syllables your last name is. If you have a single syllable last name, then I would go for one of the longer names. If you have a multiple syllable last name, then Micah John would sound good. We do have a multiple syllable last name and we did name him Micah John. :) Cheryl 03-17-2009, 10:55 PM We do have a multiple syllable last name and we did name him Micah John. :) I guess I weighed in a little late on that conversation!
