Well, I'm using Chinese prefolds now. How do I get the stains out of them? Cotton stains much more readily than Fuzzi Bunz. I bleached them multiple times and finally got the staining out. Then I read on the internet that you should NEVER bleach CPF's because that will destroy the fibers.
It claimed that you just wash them in hot water and hang them in the sun to dry and that that will get the stains out. Will it really? And if so, what do I do when I need to wash diapers and the sun's not shining?

I would try using borax and vinegar.
The sun is a natural bleaching agent. It should work.
And on those days when you can't hang the diapers out, it won't kill her to have a few with discolorations. If you wash it properly, you won't be leaving anything behind. Kind of like when you spill strawberry jam on your shirt and it stains.
If it's just the plain prefolds that are white... I soaked them in Napisan and then chucked them in the washing machine and rinsed them out. Then hung them in the sun to dry. The sun gets stains out
HTH
Also I have never had a problem with using Napisan on my CPFs. It hasn't done anything to them.

Ruth...honey...
they're diapers...that's what they're for ;) don't obsess over the stains
sure, try some borax in the wash, try some sunlight time
but overall, just let it be If you've washed in hot water you got the yuckies out, the stain doesn't mean it's still *dirty*
are you doing a cold soak/prewash before the hot? if not, do If you are, well, then ok, that's all you can do
They're diapers..their job is to contain poop, it's gonna happen, they're gonna stain...it's ok :)

Yay! The sunlight works. It takes the stains right out. And you're right Tara, the're diapers, so cut 'em a little slack.

I have some that are badly stained, so I dyed them a nice royal blue!
