My little one hates the car!!! As soon as I put her in she starts to wail. It's not the car seat, she doesn't mind that. I have tried the temperature, giving her a little mirror, a toy, music, reaching back and holding her little hand...nothing seems to be working!!! Any suggestions?
I kinda think she doesn't like it when she can't see anyone even though she is right next to her big brother and he lets her know he is there:) It's getting really stressful and I am trying to condense errands to help the situation but sometimes we gotta go places!

I'm in the same boat, Payton has been that way forever, hates the car. I have tried the toys, mirrors, riding back there with him while dh drives, nothing works. I make sure he is full and changed before we go and he still does it. After driving to the store and back my nerves are fried!

Sorry, no help but you aren't alone.

Well, we have a minivan and I moved my older son's seat to the back row and took the middle captain chair out on the side the baby wasn't....by putting them catty-corner in the diff. rows and the seat in front of the big one gone...it allowed the baby to see the older one face to face and not be "alone"....helped us anyway! Good luck! ...it also kept the big one from "whomping" the little one with anything! Not that that would ever enter his dear little mind! Oy!

Don't know if this will help, but apparently I used to be the same way! When I got older, I realized I got car sick really easily, so my mother thought that may have been why I cried so much...

No remedies I know of for that, though!

I was going to say the same thing! My best friend had the same problem, she was actually nautious (sp?) every time in the car! Does you little one ride in an infant seat? If so, maybe once she is turned forward facing it will make a difference? Good luck!

No remedies as you've tried them all just offering support and understanding. We go through the same ritual with Gracie and we have an hour commute ONE way to work. I hate watching her upset so much in the van (I sit in the back with her while DH drives) but nothing calms her for the duration of the commute. Only thing that will settle her a bit is a cd I started with her from Day 1(literally on the ride home from the hospital) and once she hears the music, she settles in. It's our only saving grace. Of course, DH and I get a bit frazzled in hearing that music over n over n over n over AND OVER again but it soothes her a bit. Thinking of you :-)
