I have a doc appt this afternoon. This will be only the second time I've seen this doctor since we got here. He is not conversational at all....just gets the job done and sends you away. He gave me forms to get some kind of blood test done when I saw him in May (which I forgot to get done) - not even sure what it was. I just know he had no concerns and it was (as far as I'm concerned) an 'extra' and 'unecessary' test so I am not worried about it. That said, not having the test done, and having scheduled this appt for several weeks later than he requested I am wondering if he is going to give me a hard time.

I miss my midwife!! I sooooo wish they were funded here. sigh. Oh well. This baby will get born regardless.

Thanks, girls! I'm trying not to worry about it. I know I am doing/feeling well and have nothing to worry about pregnancy wise. It's just that darned doctor's office....I'm telling you....*almost* makes me want to forget that whole part of the process and have the baby at home! (If I weren't such a worry wart, that is! And if it wouldn't completely freak out dh! lol)

That's okay, Jayne. My appt was late afternoon. It went okay. No major deal about the blood test or the late scheduled appt. That is the good news. The not so good news is that I forgot that this doc office does things strangely and I was supposed to go to the lab at the hospital yesterday to do the routine urine test. You know, the one where they test for glucose levels and protein in the urine. They don't do it in office like I am used to. grrr....like I need one more appt to remember. Has anyone else experienced this??

Baby news....all is well. My weight gain is less than 20lbs so far. (not exactly sure how much since my midwife measured in lbs and this doc does kgs.) Baby is head down and heart rate is 150. So in the end, all that matters is well. :D

Oh I am glad things went well Kim :)
I had to go and do lab work elsewhere too when I was pregnant they didn't do it right at the OB office. I know it can be a pain, I had to drive an hr for my appointments soI didn't want to have to try and schedule any extra either!!

Thanks, Jen!

And Jayne, that makes me feel much better to know that I'm not the only one. I am used to going to the lab for blood tests and such, but never before for the routine urine test they do at *every* visit. Seems kind of silly to me, when all it involves is dipping in that little paper stick and looking at the colors change. My midwife let me do it myself. I don't really understand why in this town they need me to go to the hospital to do it. Oh well.
