Micah is now crawling and I have had several times recently where I have had to go look for him!! It seems like in a split second they are gone. He is not up on his hands and knees crawling yet, but he does the army crawl very well! I can't believe it is happening already!!!! It is amazing how quickly they go from this tiny little sleepy baby to moving all around.

It's like they've found their freedom and are taking advantage of it :D . I love to see babies crawl, that's precious. I played with a 14 month old who was toddling around tonight and he was SO cute. Stephanie :D

That's funny Steph 'cause last night I was thinking I LOVE seeing children sleep. They look so peaceful. Jayne can Micah come over and teach this crawlin' thing Rebekah now? ~Kerri

Jayne, they grow way too fast!! Next, you know, Micah will be running around. Abby pushed up to all fours yesterday but that was as far as she got. She was only on all fours for about half a minute. I don't know if I'm ready for her to be mobile yet, that's more running around for me

The crawling stage is so fun!! They seem so much more content when they can get around and investigate things for themselves. :D

It will seem like no time until he's walking, then running, then grown all up. ~Sigh~ Spend all the time you can with them and enjoy every minute!!

This is such a cute funny stage, they move like lightening and nothing is sacred or out of bounds LOL

I laughed my head off at my brother because his set of twins have just become mobile and he turned his back for a minute to do something and next thing "where are they" he found them in the toilet of all places dismembering the "bin" in the bathroom and putting their hands all over the nasty toilet seat - LOL, I just laughed and said 'they don't call twins search and destroy for nothing'

I think that baby gates and closed doors must be great for this stage!

BornInSeptember - definately the baby gates or any baracades are the best!

Jayne I know what you mean about them growing up so quickly. I don't know where this year has gone!! Jess has just started to crawl last week too, mostly just the army crawl but the last few days she'll get up on all four and then ends up doing a belly flop  its so cute!! It seems like just yesterday that she was born!!

Ohhh, I remember that! Yeah, they move pretty fast don't they  !! We had to move everything on low shelves and coffee tables and etc and then put up baby gates. Sam was walking at 10 months, and was crawling at 8 months

I am not ready for the climbing stage just yet :)
He actually just figured out the other day how to pull himself up so he can stand!!! We have had a couple of tumbles but he is actually doing pretty good and right about the same day he also figured out how to crawl on all fours!! Now he is really gone

What's the average age for a baby to start crawling?

Ruth,

When I was pg, I bought a book called What To Expect The First Year and I noticed that Sam was doing everything about 1 month early, so I think it just depends on your little one really and how badly they want to do it!

I did a search for you on it: http://whattoexpect.com/public/newsletter/issueDetail.aspx?IsID=19370
