View Full Version : The Currently Pregnant Women-Check In JRBL 07-13-2008, 07:07 PM I was just wondering how all you current pregnant gals were doing? How are all of you holding up? What's the current craving? ;) Ashlee 07-13-2008, 08:29 PM Thanks for asking Jen!:D I am doing great! The only thing I have to complain about is my lack of energy. I feel like I'm back in the first trimester.. just feel blah! I know its probably just because the baby is going through a growth spurt and taking more away from me. So I'm trying to up my protein intake and remember to take my vitamins, and of course.. stay hydrated! I have an appointment with my midwife on the 24th for a prenatal. Then I won't see her again until the 10th of September. Looking forward to the appointment.. it will be my first. Excitement is mounting around here.. getting lots of questions from the kids. Brooke asked me today if the baby has a bed to sleep on in there, rofl. I think she knew how silly of a question it was but it was still cute. She then told me that she wants it to be a girl because she likes Lawson being her only brother, lol. We haven't yet thought of names. Thats not odd for us though.. since we never know what the sex is. Gabriella didn't get her name until 2 days after she was born. We do plan to have a boy and girl name picked out BEFORE the baby is born this time.;) Thats really all I can think of to update.. I'm sure after my appointment with the midwife I will have more "news". So, how are the rest of you ladies doing? BlessedMommy 07-13-2008, 08:54 PM I'm exactly 8 weeks as of today. I had an immense craving for pickles, ate almost a quart of uncured ones that my friend just canned, lol. Lots of food aversions and nausea. Lots of excitement about bambino #2 joining the family. My first prenatal appointment is in August. Really excited about that! I like my midwife and am looking forward to seeing her again. Too bad that I can't have a dozen kids so that I get to see her a lot! ROFL. ;) myjoyoverflows 07-13-2008, 10:46 PM Will be 19 weeks tomorrow, doesn't seem right how fast this pregnancy is going... We finally made a decision on names yesterday and I'm really excited about it! We really wanted to have the names all set and ready before our "big" ultrasound, like we did with Maddy, so I'm really excited! Our ultrasound is next Friday...but isn't coming nearly soon enough!!! I'm sooo anxious to see the baby again and hopefully find out what we're having!! I've been really busy and wicked tired...but it's all worth it!! I'm finally starting to feel pregnant and every now and then feel a twinge of movement. I didn't feel Maddy until around 20 weeks, so I'm not surprised that I'm not feeling the baby move more often. I wish that I could say my appitite is back, but it's not...it comes and goes I guess....just not what I wish it would be. I'm not feeling like I'm going to get sick often, just everything sounds gross to me...making it hard to eat much of anything. But I'm doing the best that I can. That's a bit about me...good to hear from everyone else... Skunkers 07-13-2008, 10:52 PM I'm 16w2d & my current cravings are peperoni & marshmellows. Not sure if I have felt movement yet. have had a lot of "was that it?" moments, but nothing to jump up & down about for sure yet. DH likes that my belly is starting to "show" oneinchrist 07-13-2008, 11:04 PM Hi! Well I guess I am approximately 10 weeks pregnant(the online calculators are slightly different from what my midwife says but with the same due date). I have sadly been throwing up since Friday evening, so thats a little bit of a bummer, but I know it will be worth it in the long run. The only thing I can eat is bread and rice and chips. All unflavored. Just praying this will pass quickly enough. Been dealing with the nausea increasingly for a few weeks and at last check up had lost five pounds, but the actual vomiting only just began. Midwife said that with the weight loss if I started vomiting we'd have to do something different, so I'm not sure if I need to call her, but I think I will see and if it continues for a whole week I'll call. I also seem to have developed a little cold with all of this fun belly upset. Anybody else deal with a lot of actual throwing up? B/C a lot of people seem to be surprised about that and that I don't "just" have the nausea. Just want to be sure it is normal. Also, is there a little code word for throwing up? =) Its just so gross to type out and look at! pasloma 07-14-2008, 10:16 AM Thanks for asking!!! My update: - 32 weeks! - No cravings... - No Gestational Diabetes (wonderful!) .... my sugar levels are fine! - Very tired!! - Very sensitive :???: - Feeling impatient to see Natalia! .... Paloma. pasloma 07-14-2008, 10:19 AM Hi! Anybody else deal with a lot of actual throwing up? B/C a lot of people seem to be surprised about that and that I don't "just" have the nausea. Just want to be sure it is normal. Also, is there a little code word for throwing up? =) Its just so gross to type out and look at! 1st. I was throwing up (yes! it's gross like you said... to even write it) a lot until my 6th month... now just once in a while.... So I perfectly understand you... just make sure you keep food in your stomach though and make sure you stay hydrated.... if you feel you are not... tell your doctor or midwife immediately..... :) 2nd. I know! it's gross to even write that word.... I wonder if there is a code... hopefully someone who has been here longer will let us know... probably it would be T/U ... but I am not sure! ------ I hope you feel better!!! GBY! Paloma. Proverbs31student 07-14-2008, 11:12 AM Good morning ladies. Time sure flies when you're pregnant! I'm now 26 weeks 6 days! As a matter of fact, according to the calendar, I'm due in exactly three months. God has sure blessed me. I still have not experienced any sickness or complications. I'm really enjoying myself. I've found ways to get Peanut to move, but she's a really calm baby. Like I said in another thread, I'm not sure how I'm going to count kicks in a few weeks. I've got a doctor's appointment on Friday. It's the one where I'll be tested for gestational diabetes. After that appointment, I'll be going every two weeks. Everything is suddenly reminding me that the end is quickly drawing near. DH and I have signed up for a few classes next month. Childbirth, breastfeeding, and infant care. Our church family has also scheduled a baby shower for September 7. I'd say that the biggest obstacle right now is another move. Over the next two weeks, we'll be moving from one apartment to another one. Fortunately, they're both in the same town. I've just got three minor issues... 1. With my belly expanding and rounding, it makes it really hard to carry boxes. 2. With the extra weight I've gained, I've got no endurance. 3. It's just plain hot and humid out. It has been in the mid 90's, and the air is just heavy with moisture. I've been drinking more water and staying hydrated. Any other tips would be appreciated. Thanks for listening ladies! Megan 03/06/98 - Married DH kim 07-14-2008, 01:56 PM 26 weeks here and 3rd trimester is creeping in. Yesterday I had my most uncomfortable day since 1st trimester. I'm still trying to figure out if the achy-ness in my belly was gas, the baby moving into uncomfortable positions (tight!) or the start of good ol' braxton hicks. (ick! I hope not!) I am still a bit uncomfortable today, but not to the same degree as yesterday - thank goodness!! Other than that, all is well. No particular cravings. I know I have been doing too much lately, I need to force myself to slow down a bit. I fall asleep involuntarily while watching tv with dh in the evenings most nights. And baby is moving more and more, which dh is really enjoying. That's all for now! :D PianoMama 07-14-2008, 04:34 PM [QUOTE=oneinchrist;124834]Anybody else deal with a lot of actual throwing up? B/C a lot of people seem to be surprised about that and that I don't "just" have the nausea. Just want to be sure it is normal.[\QUOTE] I did get sick with both of my pregnancies. It was aweful. I know exactly what you're going through. With dd, I was sick throgh week 17. Then -BAM- it was gone! Hope you're feeling better soon! mommy2four 07-14-2008, 11:42 PM Hi! I am 25w5d along. No cravings thus far. But everything sounds good! I have been feeling fine, up until yesterday/last night. I started feeling a lot of pressure and swelling with discharge (TMI sorry), but no contractions PTL. Is that normal for this early in the pregnancy? I know I had this with my DD's but not until much later, so it concerns me. I felt fine when I woke up this morning, but mid-morning/afternoon I started to feel pressure again. I made sure I drank my 2 liters of water and I "rested". The pressure eased up, and so did the other things, but they are still there. I feel great other then that, and the baby is really active! My youngest daughter is soooo excited about the baby that she sings to the baby (my belly) when we are are church, and reads to the baby at night. It is the cutest thing, very encouraging to me because they are so spread out in age. Thanks for the interest and I pray everything is well with all the other ladies and moms as well. JRBL 07-15-2008, 10:55 AM I'd say to er on the safe side and contact your doctor/midwife. You are pretty early to be feeling pressure like that, especially with discharge. Hhhmm... ~Tara~ 07-15-2008, 11:23 AM yeah, I think I'd put in a call to the midwife Betty..to at least give her a heads up continue to drink lots of water and rest, paying attention to any changes, as well as frequency of this pressure :) jengrant 07-16-2008, 10:57 AM I am 8 weeks 4 days and have had really no appetite for anything for 4 weeks. I have been nausous and have just a full sensation all the time. I am making myself eat because of the baby but nothing really sounds good. I take that back, fruit usually sounds good. Other than being tired all the time I am doing well. I am actually embracing all of these symptoms because they mean hormomes! love2bmommy 07-17-2008, 01:41 AM I'm 28 weeks, 4 days and don't really have any cravings at the moment. Last week I had a horrible craving for pasta salad, though! I'm very uncomfortable, though. I think having almost back-to-back pregnancies (my daughter was about 9 months when we got pg again) is taking its toll on my body. I pulled a muscle in my stomach a couple weeks ago and it's been bothering me ever since...then tonight I must have pulled it again because it burned like it's never burned before. Plus, I think I pulled another one, too. That's all in addition to my sciatic nerve hurting all the time. So I'm definitely extremely uncomfortable! buttercup_97140 07-17-2008, 04:15 AM 31 and change here. Feeling a bit fatigued but nothing beyond normal pg stuff. I did end up having to take some pain meds tonight, but I think it will something I only have to take very rarely, and mostly to help me sleep. We think Makelah seems to have turned headdown, and now my almost pg belly looks again like just a fat belly again. I have to PTL though, I have only gained about 4 or 6 pounds so far, and when you start out big, that's AWESOME!! Especially with gestational diabetes!!!! Whoohooo! It's nice, and sad when people ask if we are going to be having more, and I'm like...yeah, in about 9 weeks! One gal was totally surprised....come on now, I am showing more than that.....ha! Emma's stuttering seems to have slowed down. We had a bit of a hard day today, but she was tired, and I was in an irritable mood, Lord forgive me! My sleep has been pretty bad because of pain/uncomfortable at night, and I am praying super hard ALL the time for patience. Please think of me in your prayers if the Lord brings it to mind. It may just be a moment to me, but it's a big part of my baby's day if Mommy is short. KWIM? Em and I went berry picking today...note to self: don't berry pick at 3:30pm on a hot day! ha! We were both well hydrated, but boy does that sap the life out of a pg woman. Em had so much fun though...totally worth it gals if you have the option in your area. Good pg therapy to be with the Lord's beautiful creations. The way He made fruit to grow like that....to feed us.....just blows me away! Anyways, life is good, blessed, and going SOOOOOOOOOO SLOW! I know the Lord is keeping me close in this time, and teaching me, but wow!!!! Anyways, that's me....in a coconut shell (a nut would be too small! ) May the Lord abudantly bless you my loves! Amber 4Angelz 07-17-2008, 09:47 PM Seems that c-moms is having a serious baby boom... A few days ago I was able to feel it from the outside! Now if only hubs would be around when it does that! I've been sick the past week...like, tummy yucky sick. Called out of work today and just feel like bending over the toilet all day. :( I don't know if it was something I ate or what...but I'm not feeling great. :( Ashlee 07-21-2008, 02:10 PM Aww.. sorry Chels! We called my ds "Barnum" before he was born (don't ask lol) and dd was "Wallop" because she was constantly beating me up from the inside out! But the name your dh chose is just adorable! :D This babe doesn't really have a name as of yet. He/she moves a lot but the movements are a lot more 'alien' like than the other two kids. A LOT more visible too, which is kinda neat. This afternoon I think my lower right rib is being discovered though which isn't so neat. lol. Oh well. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts! Skunkers 07-28-2008, 05:32 PM Kim, oh no, not the ribs!! I remember those days. Ribs are suppose to tickle...right?:-D:mrgreen::-D All the "suppose to's" of pregancy hee-hee jengrant 07-31-2008, 10:11 AM I am almost 11 weeks, but according to my last sonogram I am 11wk1day. I am not really craving anything right now, I did crave BBQ last Friday, which is wierd because I never crave BBQ. The craving passed. I am still queasy alot, but it is starting to get better. Sunday was my birthday and I had some birthday cake which was yummy and didn't make me sick. I can't wait until I can feel those first movements! ~Tara~ 07-31-2008, 10:48 AM Kim I had an alien baby ... #2. Oh wow. My entire mid section would move and warp and bulge. W-e-i-r-d! Like...funny, kinda creepy, gross weird LOL We'd watch him roll completely over. Seeing his bottom move from one side of my body, bulge out in front and to the other side. A knee and elbow would jet out from time to time. Weird is the only way to describe it hehe Hilarious though. Enjoy it! Well, the kicking the ribs part I know, not so enjoyable. But I mean the funny alien part teehee kim 07-31-2008, 04:40 PM Kim I had an alien baby ... #2. Oh wow. My entire mid section would move and warp and bulge. W-e-i-r-d! I couldn't have explained it better myself! lol Skunkers 08-08-2008, 01:25 PM Today MW called & said my 1 hour glucose came in too high. It was 121. They don't like to see it over 100. I said "what do you people expect when you ask them to drink a bottle of syrup"? Now I need the 3 hour test. I said that's gonna be kinda hard, I have a 3 year old. She said "it needs to be taken care of.".....sigh.... Now, DH is going to have to take time off work to watch DS while I go do this. I'm bummed. DH is taking well, so blessings still abound :) ~Tara~ 08-08-2008, 02:59 PM argh, I hate those tests, I really do not because you have to drink the sugary/syrupy stuff..but just the whole drama of it blah! buttercup_97140 08-09-2008, 03:38 AM Even though I know how annoying this test is...have taken many myself, try to remember that it's for the well being of your baby, and you really if you do indeed have GD. There can be complications with GD, so it's best to know if you have it, so you can keep your sugars down to help avoid those complications. If you think of it in the scheme of things, 3 hours of your time will probably prove that you are OK, and that you won't have to worry about your sugars. If you do end up having GD, those three hours will be a blessing! :-) I pray you are one of those many women who fail the 1 hour, but pass the 3 hour! Blessings, Amber pasloma 08-09-2008, 01:56 PM I really don't see how drinking a very sugary syrup is good for you or the baby.... you know what I think dear Skunkers... so.... let God guide you with it... He made us feel we shouldn't do it... the first attempt (for the 3 hour test) I threw up... so we said "That's it" .... I refused to do it again... so they had to give me another choice ... When they saw I would definitely not do the 3 hr. test (because I didn't think it was healthy and because DH doesn't have the time to take off from work just to have me try to do a test that will make me throw up and I will have to do it again some other day!) They gave me a glucose monitor and I was checking my sugar levels at home without any need of fasting for hours, drinking ounces and ounces of sugar or anything like that.... My results came out fine! and that's what matters.... I found out they usually don't give you that option because that one is "for free" .... :???: ... I am really disappointed with the way the do things, and how they don't explain some other important things... I'll be praying for you about it all.... buttercup_97140 08-10-2008, 04:20 AM The home monitoring is good, just takes a lot longer to get the results, and sometimes it's best to know as soon as possible....that's so awesome that you were given another option though, I think they really should be willing to find other ways of testing if there is a resonable way to do it acurately. If you look at the sugar content of a can of soda...like Pepsi or Sprite, the amt of glucose they give you for the test is like one of those, or with the three hour, around two. Totally not saying that drinking a very sugary soda is good while pg, but there is so much sugar in the foods we eat, that in the scheme of things, it's actually not as much sugar as you think, and with the benefits that come with knowing if you have gestational diabetes or not, to me, it's totally worth it. But as with everything else, you have to decide, hopefully through prayer and research, what choices you are going to make during your pg. Please keep us updated on what you learn! Blessings, Amber Skunkers 08-19-2008, 06:17 PM my 3 hour glucose results came back. everything is normal. yay!! pasloma 08-19-2008, 06:55 PM my 3 hour glucose results came back. everything is normal. yay!!
