Does anyone else's child fight sleep??!! My ds is 17m old and he fights it terrible!!! It was 12:30 am before he went to sleep this morning!!

He sings, recites every word he knows and then some I don't know, he swings his feet, hands, head. He stands up and looks through his legs, falls down, laughs. He screams, cries, hits himself. You name it, he tries it to keep himself awake! I'm at the end of my rope some nights. Last night was one of those nights. I prayed about every 5 mins for patience w/him. DH has had about 6 hrs sleep since Sunday night and was trying to rest b/f he had to go to work. DS just would not go to sleep. My other DS was asleep in his bedroom and I didn't want to wake him b/c he has school today, so I tried to keep him as quiet as possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions in how to deal w/this??? DS #1 was so good to go to sleep, but not this one! I'm just concerned w/getting him in a habbit of staying up w/me and then falling asleep w/me. Not what I want. He was doing really good about going to sleep by himself, but for about the past month, it's been heck! We all need some sleep!!!

Boy can I relate to that one! We have four children and all but one of them have actively fought sleep starting as a toddler and it still continues to today. I wish I had a cure for you - but unfortunately I do not. My older three (all boys) still fight going to sleep at 10 years, almost 8 years and almost 6 years. My darling daughter (almost 4) for the most part goes to sleep without problem. I will be praying for us all for a resolution to this problem.
