Hi I could do with some advice on this one Sinead is 4 and is wetting the bed. I have bought her some bed pants which are basically diapers and they look like diapers. Sorry if that not spelt right we call them nappies over here lol.
Has any one else gone through this and what did you do. Should I pray about it as I am not sure.

my son Jake is 5 and he still wets the bed, every night. he has some issues with sensory things, and his therapist said that because he was later to train in the daytime, he would be later at this too.
we try to wake him up before we go to bed, and limit his drinks before bedtime, if i get up in the night i try to take him to the toilet as well but he still wakes up wet. he is a really deep sleeper, my doc said not to worry about it yet.

Mady is 5 and still has the occasional accident at night. We try to limit her liquid intake at night. I also take her to potty at least twice before I go to bed and that helps alot. Mady has slept in panties for a while now and we feel that if we were to put her in pull ups that is going to deter her so we do not. Her problem with bw....is that she is such a hard sleeper she cant wake herself up to go potty...that is why I take her ........

Hi Zoey, I never had much luck with the over night "nappies" I know they are called over there. But when we did have nightime issues with my oldest I did resort to them at times. But I preferred to buy a smaller size 3foot by 3 foot waterproof mattress pad I placed on top of his fitted sheet, and have him wear underwear to feel when he was wetting.
But like LaDonna said our greatest results came when I took away drinks at a certain time before his bedtime.
I also asked our dr. regarding this and he stated not to worry, many children experience this when growing and their bladder isn't growing as fast. There are so many issues that can play part in sudden regression and some just are a phase. Just start illiminating some of the issues it could be liquids, stress, maybe a new type of pain she is experiencing,....and go from there.
Praying on any issue in parenting is always advised! Go to God for EVERYTHING, he is our best comforter as parents.

Thanks guys I do try to limit her drinks but she gets so thirsty that she needs one. She is a heavey sleeper too and I think this is her problem. She has had some accidents during the day and she gets so upset about it. I bought her some more bed nappies yesterday but since we have got home she is refusing to wear them.
I will pray about it too, its so distressing for Sinead as she feels she is baby and I have tried to tell her that she is not.

Maybe setting up some type of little chart for her and explain to her that when she stays dry she can put up a cute sticker for each time and when the chart is full she can go get an ice cream or something with mommy......motivations sometimes help as well.....glad to hear that she is not wanting to wear the nappies...maybe that is a good sign

She seems to be back to normal now, not sure what went wrong. She has been dry past couple of nights so it looks like this might have passed.
