My 4 year old has, in the past 2 or 3 months has developed a thing for feet. He used to, and still does off and on, like to hold or rub our elbows for comfort when he tired or upset. Now, he likes to play with our feet. He plays with our toes, runs his fingers up and down the sole...is this just a comfort thing? Did/does anyone else's kids do this with feet?

not feet....but our DS (2 & 1/2)has a thing for hair. He likes to smell it, hold it, pull it, snuggle it....he just loves our hair. he only does it w/ us... no one out of the house, so I'm not concerned. He's just lovin" us.

I have an ear thing. When I nursed I would "twiddle" my moms ear. I would roll it around and mush it ect. between my fingers. I still do that when I am stressed out to dh ears. Its a good thing he loves me and already knew I was weird!

Abby does the ear thing. If she can't get to mine, she'll play with her own. He may just like the texture of your feet, or the wiggly toes. Not a big deal.

With my son it has always been having somone's hand to hold to his face as he sucks his thumb. With my daughter it is definately a hair thing. They all have something different. It sounds like he is giving you a nice foot massage :). I suppose it is just another one of those comfort things. I guess you just have to teach appropriate boundaries with any of these things - where, when, stopping if asked etc.
