View Full Version : those who have non mainstream vaxing ways...
danou 06-05-2008, 11:19 PM meaning those who don't vax, delay vax, alternative blah- I don't know all of the possibilities...
Would you please point me in the direction to good information (web based or otherwise) that helped you make your choice? Canadian specific would even better- although there are many similarities.
We are currently on a delay route- started with 2mo and 4mo and haven't continued until I was sure. I'm still not sure either way. It seems like such a big topic that I don't know anything about and I'm no further ahead than I was back then.
In a manner using the utmost respect I would appreciate hearing your "thought processes" in choosing to or not or delaying vaxing. (Mods if this is inappropriate please edit or delete.)
Thanks in advance.

Cheeseburger 06-06-2008, 02:25 AM Hey - i'm in canada...
Well we selectively vax. I did a lot of research on which vax had aborted human fetus cells in them, and we don't give those to our kids.
Also, our DS had colic, so we delayed the vax until he was older. And then we found out because we had delayed them he got 1 less shot... apparently they just give them an extra shot b/c at the 2 month vax their immune system isn't developed enough to take hold of it anyway, so you end up with 2 more, but because we delayed his vax he only had to get 2 shots total instead of three (for that particular one.) I can't remember which one it was... I will find out for you. I wish I had known that with DD, because, like, hello... I would have delayed to avoid having her get an extra shot too.

Madre 06-06-2008, 08:09 AM We didn't vax until our kids were older.
tobikay 06-06-2008, 08:20 AM d, personally, I never thought twice about vax, we just did it because the dr told us to. Then I went to work for a chiropractor who became a chiropractor after his children suffered damage from vax. At first I thought he was a nut (he was, but that is another subject), but the more I spoke with more and more people and the more I read up on it, the more it just didn't make sense to me.
Looking at the ingredients, and the recommended ages, I have to wonder why. Why do we have to inject these directly in to our babies bodies when they are so young and their bodies are just becoming adjusted to the world? Why, why do we have to put known neurotoxins in them?
Then I started looking at one of the biggest scare tactics used, polio. What happened in the world when they started giving this vax? How was it developed? Was it really the vax that stopped the disease, or was it something else? (Hygene practices improved greatly at the same time, as well as it was discovered that many who had been dx with polio probably actually had something else, so the number of cases would have reduced anyway. Then, the fact that the only cases of polio in civilized countries since the 70's have been vax induced)
So, after all this, I started really looking and listening to the medical community when it comes to vax and prescription drugs in general. How many drugs are "perfectly safe" only to turn around 3 years later and say, "oh,. we are sorry for these people who died, I guess it wasn't safe after all". Then this new shot for young girls, with no long term research at all, we are all supposed to go out and inject our children with....whatever it is? I don't think so.
So, I will fight the fight with the school nurse each year (yes, as president of the school board, I still have to fight each year) and I will not vax my children anymore, and I will praise the Lord that they came through what vax they had with no adverse effects.
breezykc2 06-06-2008, 04:27 PM We do vax, and never had any issues so far, until the last shot where my little guy had some really nasty side effects...due to that, we will delay now until I feel he can handle them better and then only proceed with one shot at a time...
My docs don't like delaying or slowing and it's not a popular view anywhere around here, so I am preparing for a battle royal at his next appointment this month...oy!

Anyone have a link like this for the US? DS had gotten his vax as the 'normal' time as per dr. I'm really worried about dd for some reason. Can't tell if it's a from God worry or a fleshly worry. :???:

bellsNbos 06-25-2008, 09:42 AM I love you gals! I knew I was at the right place. I use to always believe in vax'ing until the Lord changed my heart about this. I was taught to believe that you do whatever the dr. says and never question it and never take your own health in your own hands. I never had thought about not vax'ing until several years ago when I was teaching at a christian school my boss was trying to decide to weather or not to let a student in that was not vax'ed. He was suppose to be in my class. I was so upset when I heard this. I thought it was crazy not to vax but then my boss gave me a pretty good argument on it which helped me to consider some things. So that got me started thinking about it. The second thing that got me thinking about it was I had got a cute little kitten. She was so spunky and playful. Then I got her vax'ed. She was still spunky but not for weeks after her vax'ing. She also started to have sizures. I googled a bunch of things to see what could have been the cause of her sizures and everything that came up was that the vax's could have that side affect. My cat now is 10 yrs old and her sizures started to diminish just as each of the vax's wore off. My vet is on my back about vax'ing her again and I just refuse to do it because of what happened last time. Everyone thinks I am crazy but I really don't care I know what my poor lil kitty has went through along with me. It's so sad. Then I had two autistic boys in my class who were high functioning but I was still amazed at how there minds worked. I was so fascinated by them that I left my job at the christian school I had been in and went to work for an autism school. I was very curious on how these children got this way. Every parent I talked to believed it was the vax's. This is where my research began. Then I got married and started having babies. After much prayer between my dh and myself we decided not to vax. We are not against vax'ing or anyone who does vax but we feel that the Lord has had a reason for the information that has come acrossed our path and we believe we are acountable for it.
It's sad the fight we parents have to fight for our children. I have a friend who doesn't vax either and she just gave me some books to read through. I'm sorry for my rant here but I had to share. I wanted to give you the info for the books. Vaccination:The issuse of our times ...... Vaccinations deception and tragedy by Micheal Dye ...... and Vaccinations A Thouhtful Parents Guide by Aviva Jill Romm. The thoughtful parents guide is one of the least bias. It gives both sides, the health benefits to vax'ing and non vax'ing. I hope this helps. You do whatever you feel the Lord put on your heart.
Madre 06-25-2010, 09:44 AM We never vaxed when our kids were infants and some of them didn't see a needle until they had been in elementary school awhile. We played catchup, but the kids didn't get near the amount of vaccine that they would have had we started them off as newborns.
Even now we aren't quick to get flu shots, etc. All the kids have worked in restaurants, though, and had to have hep shots.
His butterfly 06-25-2010, 10:06 AM We were delayed vax for awhile and now Dh and I are very selective vax. There are so many things out there that doctors want to vaccinate against and yet they are things that are not even relevant to our society. Polio is something that really isn't seen anymore so why vaccinate against it. Also chicken pox is better for a child to get when they are young as they are better able to fight it and build an immunity to it. The vax that they give prevents them from getting it as a child but not as an adult when it's more dangerous to get. Plus we looked at all the ingredients in the shots and had to ask ourselves why in the world we were injecting our kids with all this stuff that is potential harmful.
Now the exception for us would be if we were traveling to a country in which a certain disease was prevalent and then we would discuss and determine whether to proceed with the vax for that disease.
LovinMommyLife 06-30-2010, 12:47 AM Not trying to hi-jack your thread here...and if you want me start a new one, just say so:) For all you "Selective Vax-ers" out there... which ones did you decide to go ahead with? TIA!
His butterfly 06-30-2010, 10:28 AM The only one we are for sure about right now is Pertussis/whooping cough and that is mostly because it is deadly and still quite common. Nothing is more heartbreaking than a child not being able to breathe. But we are still researching all the vaccines for safety reasons. Other than that one we are still mostly undecided. Most vaccines now a days seem to be mostly for illnesses that are now mostly obsolete.

Thanks:) Gives me a little more to look into!
His butterfly 06-30-2010, 12:44 PM The best thing is to research them all. We are still researching the pertussis vax and will continue to research them all until we are satisfied and feel we can make a peaceful decision. I am pretty sure Cheese and Ruth have some great links here somewhere about vaxs.
