So DD was being fussy at mealtime, not wanting to eat her food, fussing, screaming, etc. So that led to her removal from the table to her bed. DH said, "Just bring the food out at the next meal, and be persistent, don't give her anything else until she eats it."
So at the next meal, I brought the veggies out. Hannah was going to the refrigerator and whining, "Hungry!" I said, "After you finish your veggies from the last meal, then you can have something else. But you have to eat the veggies first, since you wouldn't eat them at the last meal."
It took a lot of perseverance, but eventually I just put her in her bed with the bowl of veggies and walked away. Lo, and behold, I came back and found a toddler with a mouth full of peas and broccoli, lol. And later when I came back, the bowl was cleaned out, so she got to eat other things as promised.
I guess that it just goes to show, that if they are hungry, they WILL eat! :)
