I had my midwife appointment today and had my Group B Strep test done, I should have the results next week sometime. I also went ahead and asked her to check my cervix since I've been contracting so much and they've been getting pretty intense... I'm 1 and a half centimeters... which, is actually a LOT less than I thought... I'm usually about three cent. by now and stay that way until my water breaks and they put me on pitocin at 37 weeks!

So, I have mixed feelings about that... I'm *glad* I'm not more dilated... and yet... I'm a little worried this labor might be THAT different that it takes so much longer for labor to
progress and such. I'm not too worried... it just gave me a mixed feeling... plain and simple.

The baby is definitely lower, the head is literally right on my pubic bone... but everything seems good. My blood pressure was great as usual, weight is good, and the baby was still head down... I was actually worried about that because the movements had seemed so different... I was feeling hiccups all over instead of just down low where the head was... and things just seemed different... but, that's probably because the baby's dropped so much.

Anywho... I just had to share... everything here is going really well... and while I'm feeling really uncomfortable, it doesn't seem like this baby is in a huge rush to come out, judging by my dilation. But, we'll see, eh?

oh what a good report. :) still having contractions huh? I'm glad she's in position! yeah...i know about the hiccups!! kind of a funny feeling! :) watch this be the fastest delivery yet....just the opposite of what you are dilated to is saying. but your body does seem to be getting ready! :) when's your next appointment? mine is next Thursday.

at least you are almost 2cm. i don't think i'm dilated at all being that I don't have many contractions. here and there but nothing big enough to make me think i've dilated. I'm starting the evening primrose, 3 a night, vaginally. (tmi, i know)

But i'm just hoping I have progressed some. my next appointment isn't until the 29th. I was suppose to have one once a week but it's to far of a drive so we'll start that after next week.

Jen, did your midwife give you any tips for relief? or is there not much you can do?

Good to hear Jen :) it's always reassuring getting a good report on babe! I didn't feel contractions at all and I was 3cm at 35 weeks, I was shocked but happy nonetheless, so don't give up hope Esther!

I'm so excited for the new babes to get here! [claploud]

Catringa, my next appointmnet is on the 6th... I was supposed to go in next week... but... I don't *need* to... so we'll put it off a week and see how we are then...

Esther, midwife told me that I basically just have to deal with them. I'm hydrated, and taking it as easy as I can running a household and caring for four kids... so... the contractions are just going to come, regardless. but, I still feel really good in spite of them. :) And I'm really excited!

I'm glad to hear that it isn't too painful for you. I was wondering what kind of rest you were getting with 4 kiddos to care for. I'm glad that you *might* carry full term as well. I don't think I am ready for Jojo to come just yet.... I'm trying to just enjoy the rest of my pregnancy. KWIM?

Glad to hear things are going well, Jen!

I know what you mean, Esther ~ I was happy to enjoy the last few weeks with my ds before the baby came. I was physically ready for dd to come, but it helped me to enjoy my son alone!

I know what you mean, Esther... while I would LOVE to meet this baby now, I really want to go to term and have a chubby baby in the end. :)

Esther...you and i have our next appointment on the same day! :) i always love our appointment days (we actually get a babysitter...and make a date of it afterwards...even if it just walking around the mall).

Jen.....I was wondering how much rest too...that you can get with four. But I'm glad you are still in good spirits....and not giving the eviction notice to the little one! ;) I look forward to hearing how your next appointment goes on the 6th!!! :)
