I was listening to a program on the radio with a guest who has done a lot of research into cosmetics etc and their ingredients. Her premise is that thousands of products (including baby and children's care products) contain dangerous compounds and chemicals that are not safe.

Just a warning before going off the deep end... The EWG (Environmental Working Group-which rakes in millions & millions of dollars each year) has no actual scientific or otherwise backing on their statistics. It is just their word. In the past, this group has been caught lying or making up studies and/or stats just to support their view...which always is in connection with something they are selling or a product alternative that low and behold is their's.

I completely agree. What many interest groups usually forget is that truth always goes further. It is so difficult to find out truth & know what to do because it seems like whether its the governement, businesses, or interest groups-they are all really just looking out for their own interests :(

It's good to look up this info but I'm starting to wonder if it is just better to start making my own products so that I can at least know what is going into my kiddos diaper cream, etc.

We have heard about this over here in England companys using chemicals in there products. Some companys say that it is like taking a bath in chemicals, I do try to use more natural proudcts on Sinead as she has exma soz cnt spell.

I do not think the products are that harmfull as some of us have been using them for years.
