I am so confused! I am 16 DPO and haven't really started yet. On thursday night I noticed soem brown old blood when I wiped( not a lot). It has been going on like this ever since. I have worn a pad but nothing gets on it. I only see the brown when I wipe and it isn't a whole lot. There has been one time that I wiped and it was a dark red but still not a whole lot. I am gonna test again tomorrow but just curious what you guys think. I took clomid this cycle and we had an IUI done on the 4th of April. I usually don't spot during a normal pregancy. This is just really weird because I figured by now something would have started!

Could be slow oncoming or pregnancy...some people have a really light period the first month or implantation spotting that occurs around the same time you'ed start...or the IUI can cause weird bleeding too sometimes....lots of "possibles"...I would test again if you don't start full on in the next day or so...

Well, things are pretty much still the same. No "normal" AF yet, just spotting when I wipe. Took a HPT this morning and still BFN. I am gonna call my doc today and see what he thinks. We will probably do another cycle of clomid but I told DH I don't really want to do another IUI again. Thanks for the tips, I totally forgot about pre-seed and am gonna look it up again later.

Just talked to the nurse in the office and she said if I don't start a normal period by wednesday we will do some tests. She said what was going on didn't sound normal and that if the tests are saying negative then more than likely I am not Pregnant. So until wednesday.....

Quick question, as I may be in the same boat (minus the Clomid and IUI)...

Did the spotting/brown colour start on DPO 16 or before? I'm at DPO 13 and am experiencing the same thing and AF usually starts on DPO 11 or 12 for me...

If it is implatation bleeding it would be too early to get a BFP. You wouldn't have one for I want to say 12 more days. I would have to check TCOYF to be positive on the amount of days but I know for sure it is too soon for a BFP if its imp. blood.

I started this morning. I am somewhat happy because the dr sounded concerned about the spotting. So, I guess we will start clomid soon and try again this month :)

I haven't ever used clomid, but I can say from my own experience, that ever since having given birth do DS#1, that my AF's almost always start the way you describe. More than once, I thought maybe I was pregnant and it was implantation bleeding, but it turns out that my cycles are just that way now. I generally have spotting on the day I'm due for AF, and then I have 3 days of just barely anything...almost exactly what you described, and then AF will generally start on day 4.

I was a little weirded out by it at first, and when I got prego with DS#2, I wasn't sure what day I should count by for the start of my last period, the brown spotting the first day, or the first actual day of blood. I was told to count from that first day of spotting.

So anyway, I'm proof that your experience can be just a total normal AF experience, at least for me post childbirth with both kids, lol.

I have a question for you, what have your 7-10 day post O progesterone levels been? Spotting days before AF comes could indicate low progesterone. I had to start taking progesterone when O was confirmed because my 3rd round progesterone level was only 4 with the clomid. The month I started the progesterone suppositories I got my BFP...and it was round four this time!

thanks, yes they have checked that and it is fine. I think I just had a really weird cycle last time. We had our IUI yesterday so now we are in the 2WW!! It is gonna be a long 2 weeks!
