Got your attention with that title didn't I!!!
My one year old eats everything (hence the vulture title!). This morning, he had a full bowl of cereal, a full container of yogurt (those little ones, but still), and most of his milk. He still wants more, so he ate a bit of my toast. My four year old is still struggling with 2 slices of toast. In fact he struggles to eat one sometimes. How is it that my four year old weighs twice what my one year old weighs but eats about a quarter of what my one year old eats? I don't get it!
My four year old has been at the table for nearly a 1/2 hour and has only had a few bites. My one year old finished his food, begged off my plate, and is now playing.
When I was in university, I took a course on animal behaviour. It was a disappointing course, but I learnt that the smaller the animal, the more energy he or she expended. They have more surface area than a larger animal and so shed heat more quickly, etc. So is this the reason that my one year old can eat my four year old under the table? But that should be proporonate to size right? You don't see a hummingbird eat more than an elephant! LOL.
I actually think that my four year old just hates sitting still to eat while my one year old enjoys the new experience. Still, where does my one year old put it all and how does my four year old survive!
Silly children!
