Brett and I are about to finish reading #1. It has brought back memories from my childhood. I love to read and am trying really hard to instill it in Brett. I bought the entire set from Ebay.

View Full Version : Do you remember the Boxcar Children? Queenofmycastle 08-28-2006, 01:12 AM Brett and I are about to finish reading #1. It has brought back memories from my childhood. I love to read and am trying really hard to instill it in Brett. I bought the entire set from Ebay. Alicia pa_wife 08-28-2006, 01:22 AM We have the WHOLE set as well. Dd and Ds read them in the 2nd or 3rd grade, I forget, but anyway, they are in our "keepers" box, maybe one day I can give them to the grand babies! Queenofmycastle 08-28-2006, 01:50 AM That is exactly what I was thinking. I also have the whole set of Magic Tree House books that I want to hang on to. Alicia PLMMom 08-28-2006, 06:30 PM Ohh I love the Boxcar kids...I have some really old books...saved them from when I was a kid...we also have a bunch of really old Bobsy Twins..remember those??...my grandmother actually gave me most of those...I love the way they smell...reminds me of her... Donna B. 08-28-2006, 07:27 PM I love the BoxCar children too. I read a chapter to them everynight. OK- somenights they begged me to read another chapter...how could I resist? i just read them the first book.... I'll have to check out the rest of them for them as well. logosnimby 11-23-2006, 02:49 AM yes, it was such an awesome series JoyLynn 11-23-2006, 03:48 AM The first Boxcar book was the first book Scotty ever read by himself. Brings back very fond memories. Around the second night he had been reading it, I let him stay up extra late reading in bed, and when I went to tuck him in and take the book away I found he'd fallen asleep with it on his face. He said these words in his sleep as I took the book away and I'll never forget them... "It's so good, I can't put it down." Aaaah... sweet words, indeed! [cheerful] We have the full set, also, and all my kidlets have read and love them. [dancing] Joy [welcomewave] scrapbookfellowship 04-27-2007, 11:13 AM I read a book about kids in a boxcar when I was in elementary school. I think in the end of the book, the kids parents or someone brought the boxcar home for them. I could be remembering wrong. I remember liking it when I was a kid. Also loved How to eat fried worms. TXMommy 06-29-2007, 05:42 PM I loved them too! I remember checking one out from the library and how worn out the book was. My Mom got me a few of them that I will share with DS one day. imported_rachel 06-30-2007, 10:09 AM Oh yes, though I am vague on the stories. I have a picture of my 3rd or 2nd grade self giving an oral report on a boxcar book. :) Godzgirl 06-30-2007, 07:31 PM Yup i remember them. :D PianoMama 07-24-2007, 07:14 PM I used to read them too!! How cool...I hope they are still 'around' when my ds is of age to read them. ~kate~ |
