I just finished my second cycle of clomid. I had an ultrasound yesterday and the doc said my egg looked good but my mucous was too thick so the sperm couldn't get where they need to be. The doc wants to do an IUI tomorrow. Has anyone had this done before? What are your thoughts on the procedure? I am kinda unsure about this being the route I want to go. I always thought we could just get pregnant the old fashioned way, no doctor needed. I know that if this was meant to be it will be. Thanks.

I have not had to have an IUI, doc wanted to, but we decided to wait since she really had no reason except to it being easier. (for us anyways)(We were also doing clomid)
I think it's pretty easy, and either way you look at it, the Lord will open your womb or keep it closed no matter what you do. He knows of our broken bodies because of the fall, and has given us lots of info to help us. I also believe He wants us to bring these things before Him, but I don't think He would be upset by this decision if we truly seek His will for us. Not only are we broken by the fall, but we have put so much yucky stuff into our bodies not only from food, but from the air we breathe, and the chemicals we touch. He knows our families, He knows all of our conceptions, so I encourage you to pray with your Dh about it, but I wouldn't look at it as if you are making up the Lord's mind for you. I think a lot of people feel like they are pushing the Lord into giving them a baby, but the Lord has kept many women's wombs closed even with IVF.

If your mucous is too thick, it may be a good thing to have an IUI to bypass that stuff.

I hope you find peace in any path you and Dh take. This TTC stuff is hard work. ;-)

Amber, Thanks for your response. We had the IUI done this morning. DH and I talked and prayed about it and came to the same conclusion you did, if this was meant to be it will. It is all in His hands. So, we are in the 2 WW now and will see what happens.
