I mentioned in the rollcall thread that I was having an ultrasound to check on the placenta on Monday. Well, I woke up to more bleeding this morning (I already had a bleeding episode 2 weeks ago), so I called the doctor and they had me come in for an ultrasound. They found a pool of blood in a spot where the placenta didn't attach right. The good news is that this shouldn't affect the baby in any way. The bad news is that I'll probably keep spotting off and on until it resolves itself. I have another ultrasound in 2-3 weeks (it isn't scheduled yet) to check on the pool of blood and make sure it's not growing. I'm excited because we might be able to see the gender at that ultrasound!

I'm glad to hear that you and the baby aren't in any danger. I'll continue to pray that nothing goes wrong and that you'll get to see what you're having!!!!

I know that can be scary! I spotted on and off during the first tri. of my last pregnancy. It did resolve itself eventually with no ill effects toward the baby. Praying all works out well for you!

Man that stinks! I'm glad you and the babe are okay though and will be! Whew! Spotting is annoying but at least you know it's not a sign that the baby is in trouble... that in itself has to be a load off for you!

Glad to hear the ultrasound had a positive outcome. Hopefully the spotting won't continue for long.

Glad to hear your baby safe! Hope the spotting doesn't last much longer.

Thanks ladies! My doctor's office called this morning and said they're not going to repeat the ultrasound until 20 weeks. I was a little disappointed because I'm really excited to find out what we're having, but at 20 weeks, we have a way better chance of finding out than at 16 weeks.

I am glad the spoting wasn't serious. at least at 20wks you will be more confident with the gender results
