Yesterday I got a little worried. Baby Jojo usually moves in the morning time when I wake up, but he didn't move almost all morning and into the afternoon. This is the time when you're suppose to keep track of at least 10 kicks an hour, so I've been trying to pay attention. I drank some cold water and ate some food and still the little booger wasn't moving. When we got home from church I went and layed down and got out my doppler. His hb was good and finally he started rolling around and moving. I don't know if he was just sleeping or comfortable.

I have about 12 weeks left and I'm getting really excited. My tummy just keeps getting bigger and my weight is making me nervous. It's hard to see change in your body when it doesn't just take place in your tummy. KWIM? But I am thrilled that God is blessing us with another miracle.

I have one more appointment on April 18 and then it's every two weeks. My next appointment I need to have the glucose and iron test.
but that is all I have to report. I hope all you other mommies are doing great.

Did I mention I'm starting to get some minor stretch marks around my belly button..... :???:

I'm a week behind you, Esther, so you and I are right there together. Eliya is a VERY quiet baby and that used to scare me, but now I've accepted the fact that she's just a quiet little gal. It's weird. I'm usually beat to pieces by my little fetus'. :) I have more stretch marks this go 'round, and am showing more/earlier than I did with any of my other gals, I'm also carrying her a LOT higher than my other gals. This is just a different pregnancy altogether. I also have my glucose test at my next appointment, coming up next week.

I'm feeling pretty anxious to be at my due date, just so I can go through her birth and hold her; I'm not nervous about the pain yet, that usually doesn't kick in until the last few weeks, which is right around the corner. Otherwise, not too much else happening on the Eliya front... just waiting and enjoying the pregnancy. :)

I'm just about to hit 2nd trimester and the ickies are starting to fade. Yay! Just in time to pack up house and move! :D

Not much else to report right now....no exciting appointments yet and still to early to feel baby move. But I am looking forward to the 18wk u/s which will be done back at home in Alberta after we move.

Nothing happening here.

34+ weeks according to my ticker.
I will measure later this week. My chiro is going to bring her doppler, hopefully to my next appt. We're just going to have a listen. No worries or anything. Just thought, hey, she has one, she offerered, I've not done any such thing since that meeting with friend's midwife at 13 weeks, sure, why not. So, *maybe* this week. Not positive because she had loaned her doppler out to another gal who was out of town when I asked about it last week. It all depends on whether that gal got back in town this weekend and my chiro was able to meet with her. No sweat ;)

I'm wanting to do a belly cast with this one. Had the stuff last weekend but it was too late and then during the week hub's not up for it because it takes a while. By the time we get kids to bed then sit up for the casting...it makes it hard for him to get up for work as early as he does. So, we were holding off until weekend again. Then Thursday I had my freak out, Friday we were at the track and I was READY to be home to get to bed. Saturday we were tuckered too, all day at the track. Just get me home and in bed!! Not to mention hub's crash. He's not exactly in an ideal position for casting :p

Maybe this Friday we can manage it.

Weight gain is still stalled out. Doesn't bother me a bit. The gain looks good. It's just stopped for the time being. I expect it's no big deal..that I just gained faster/earlier. It all evens out, right? ;)

The kids have been intrigued by the baby's movements. Doodles and Boo, almost daily, have to go 'feel the baby'.

My back and pelvic discomfort (aka grinding!!) have greatly improved with my adjustments. The last 2 visits I've only been back complaining of my pelvis, NOT my back. Then last time I was still feeling kind of rough, so called to set up an appt for the next week...I had planned and scheduled for *2* weeks..but feared I wouldn't make it. Well, made the appt then that afternoon things lightened up considerably. Oh well. Certainly didn't hurt anything to go ahead with that appt. Felt good!

I *still* can't make sense of this child. My whole belly is just hard. LOL I can feel a torso, but can rarely tell which way is 'up'. Sometimes though I will grab a hold of the large lump and give it a shove, the whole lump moves, indicating that was the rear as when you move the rear the whole body follows, not so much so with the head ;)

I'll have hub take another good feel later this week.

So I'll report back later with hopefully some more info for y'all.
Measurements.
Position.
Possibly heart rate.
And weight gain.

My birth kit stuff (all whopping 6 items (2 of which had doubles) of it) arrived recently. All clothes and diapers have been washed up. Other 'supplies' have been bought and are in my birth kit bucket. We're ready for action.
Oh, still have to braid some floss for the umbilical cord. I did that earlier but ended up giving it to Doodles as a bracelet :p so I need to make another. Get those sanitized and stored away. See if I can track down another pair of scissors around here that would be capable of cutting the cord. Sanitize and store those as well. But I won't hold my breath. I will either just get a razor blade at the store next shopping trip or we'll last minute sanitize the scissors we have and assume they'll still be sharp enough to do the job.

I think that's it.

Would anybody be interested of keeping a running stat of the month with the highest number of pregnancies? or births? kinda like on the bottom when it says "most users ever logged in: # on this day: X

Just a thought, would be sort of fun and interesting.

I am at almost 35 weeks and feeling ready to go! Lots of contractions, starting to take my breath away at times...funny thing is I haven't done anything to get ready for the babe! With #1 I was so prepared. We have been doing a lot of Bradley stuff to prep for the natural childbirth. That has been the big focus this time around. So I guess I have done something...just nothing to prepare for when the baby comes home.
Oh, movement...so much! I am getting those big moves where the belly changes shape completely. It's so fun.
Thanks for checking in, Esther!
Kate and Tara, wasn't just yesterday that we found out we were preggos???

So how is everyone doing? Morning sickness is finally subsiding and I'm getting some of my energy back!

What stage of pregnancy are you in and how are you handling it? I just got into the second trimester and I'm feeling much better.

Anything new to report? Baby movement? Appointments coming up? I was on bedrest a few weeks ago due to unexplained bleeding. We had an ultrasound and baby was fine, but since I was only 11 weeks, it was too early to make sure the placenta was OK. So I have another ultrasound this Monday to check on the placenta. I wish it was just a couple weeks later so we'd have a chance at seeing what we're having!

How many weeks do you have left? and how do you feel about baby coming? 27 weeks left and I'm just trying to savor it. DH has been talking lately about maybe only wanting two kids. I really want at least one more (I really want 3 more, but I don't think that's going to happen) and most of the time, he agrees with that, but just in case this is the last pregnancy, I want to enjoy it.

I'm doing ok here - taking one day at a time. Honestly no real discomfort. More of an "I'm done" type of feeling. I'm still sleeping OK, waking up about once each night on a regular basis to use the bathroom. Some nights are bad waking up with leg cramps, but some are totally fine in that respect.

I'm in the final stages of the 3rd trimester ~ 2ish more weeks to go!!! Then we get to meet our little girl! I'm handling things ok. I'm not thinking about labor. I'm purposely not talking to anyone about it because people tend to have a 'freak out' mentality when they talk about it. I'm at peace about it right now, why bother get nervous about it? Ya know?? I'm also not worried about when *it* happens. I have a huge handbell festival that I'm supposed to direct on April 20th, and I'm ok with whatever God decides as far as timing is concerned.

My last appt was a week ago. I had my strep B test and my cervix was checked. I was 1 cm dilated, the baby measure 26.5 weeks and about 6 lbs, she was head down with HB of 144. My next appt is on Friday...

I'm really tired all the time so I try to take a nap almost each afternoon if at all possible. I find myself a bit cranky too...[whatwacko] Most of our things are ready for baby ~ the clothes are washed, the room is painted, the curtains are made. I typed of my "what to bring to the hospital" list but, I think I need to pack my bag soon. I do need to get the carseat in the car too...

I think that's it! Am I really he next one to have a baby on here??? WOW...

I've been throwing up this week! This pregnancy has been SUPER weird for me. I keep going into a first trimester relapse and experiencing morning sickness. It's disgusting. I can handle being dizzy, tired, and even a little nauseated, but to be just straight puking. Ugh.

My belly shape has changed dramatically too. I was showing like I had a basketball under my shirt, it looked REALLY funny, and now... it's kind of spread out longways... It looks more proportionate. I don't think she's dropped, I don't typically drop until right before labor is coming, but I can't really explain this new "shape". Any ideas gals? She's also putting more pressure on my bladder and cervix. Weird.

Anybody's boobs grow a ton already??? I already had to move up a size in bras! Weird man!!!

I'm sorry to hear that. I seem to struggle with the morning time. I need like steak and fried potatoes with bacon, chives and sour cream mixed in! not cereal or yogurt! But If i don't eat something with heavy protein I start to feel weird and sick. Hope things pass for you.

I always always always crave steak (more so than usual) during pregnancy hehe
If I could have it for breakfast...oh daaaaaaaang would I ever be happy :p

But I've been ok as long as I get a good portion of protein in the evenings. Beef. Chicken not cuttin' it. I don't want anything to do with chicken lately. The chicken nuggets last week were kind of a stretch..now even more so. Except for my desire for chinese food :p But...must resist...MUST resist! (baaaaaad msg, baaaaaad)

Now, as far as *the girls* go..they are just beginning to come back to life. They've been kind of hinting at it for a little while. But, the last few pregnancies, they continue to lie low until the babe is born. ;)

Today is my chiro appt. If she remembered/was able to get back her doppler, I'll get to check in on the babe this afternoon. See if we can gain any perspective on boy/girl by the heart rate eh?

I'm ready though. Not that droning "I'm done" kind of ready...but...just...ready. I *am* done, but, ya know, different than the other fully exhausted, spent, feel you have NOTHING left in you *done*. No no I'm not there. Just generally done. Ready. Come ON :p

I crave steak during pregnancy too. I love steak all the time but during pregnancy I have been known to eat it for breakfast. I actually purposely cook too much steak for dinner so that I can heat up whatever dh doesnt eat for breakfast. I usually cook eggs with it. Mmm.. I'm actually craving it right now!

Anyway.. I have been doing really well! Morning sickness has not crept back up on me which is great. I am 14 weeks now.. time is flying!! Must find a midwife still!! Ours moved to Atlanta. I really need to pray about this because everytime we have looked into a different midwife we have found no one compatible. We are pretty picky but the most important thing is that the midwife we choose will be understanding of our religous beleifs. We are hoping to find a Christian midwife. It seems a lot of them are in to astrology and stuff similiar to it.

If you lived closer Tara I'd just have you come attend my birth.. being the pro that you are! That'd be cool! Thats how they did it in the 1800's, right? Just have their closest neighbor friend be there midwife? Now look what the world has come to? JK

Ok.. forgetting I'm not in the off topic thread... sorry!

I'm a big protein craver too, and red meat, not chicken so much. I have craved nuts a lot; pistachios, almonds that kind of thing. I've been craving WHOLE milk too, and we don't drink milk really around here anymore. Weird.

Esther, I totally identify with needing something substantial in the morning, I'm the same way, even when I'm NOT pregnant... I can skip eating the rest of the day (when not preggo) as long as I had a big breakfast. If I eat cereal or toast I'm sick the rest of the day...icck....

Well, just rounded 16 weeks. I have literally been feeling this baby move for so long. Most people will say I am crazy, but my little bean has been kicking in the same place all along, and when we heard his/her h/b on the doppler, it was right around the place where I am getting kicked. My cervix may be a bit thin, but our "big" ultrasound is on April 23rd, so I think they are going to check it there. The same doc who found Noah's heart defect will be reading the ultrasounds that day, so that makes me happy! Because of my previous gestational diabetes, I have to go straight for the 3 hour GTT at 20 weeks. Yuckie!!!! I know it's best for baby and me, but bleh! ;-)

Please pray for me if the Lord brings it to mind. I am a bit nervous about the big ultrasound. I totally trust the Lord in whatever He blesses us with, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't a tad anxious about a good report! I know I can have a healthy baby, I know that Noah's defects weren't a result of our DNA, the Lord just kept a piece of Noah with Him for when He called him home. It's just painful to have to hand a baby off to the Lord after such a short time, but I so want to keep my eyes on Him and remember that He knows the WHOLE plan and that it's perfect! So my prayer request would be for just that, to remember to trust Him!

Blessings,
Amber

I've been thinking of you Amber. I'm so glad you checked in. I couldn't remember how far along you were. I think it's cool that you have been feeling this one move from early on. I felt some very early things with this one too. An early flutter or two but mostly just I could *feel* "something" in there. I could feel a lump. I had NEVER felt that so early with the others.

You are a strong woman of faith Amber. You inspired us all throughout your pg with Noah. Remember that. He will see you through once again :) Just lean on Him, He is there for you.

Thanks you guys! The Lord is amazing, and I just need to keep remembering that!

So, I have to tell you guys! The wonderful woman who took Noah's Now I lay me down to sleep pics emailed me a while ago asking how we were. I emailed her back about us being pg and everything, and hadn't heard from her in a while. Well I get back to work tonight (it's where I check email) and she had written me back. She said she missed the part of us being pg, and wanted to say how excited she was for us! She also said a local anchor man from one of the new channels wants to do a story on NILMDTS and she wants to use Noah's pics. She also said he wants to interview a set of parents, and I got from the email that she wante to use us! How awesome would it be to let other's know that this service is available, and maybe even get to witness a bit on TV! If this does happen, wow, I feel emotional about it already, but I know if it's the Lord's will, He will give me words that need to get out!

Thanks for all the support, you are great!

Ok, my update:

Measurements. 34cm

Position. Possibly breech

Possibly heart rate. Oooook this is where it gets interesting. Remember, this was my chiro, she has no training in this realm. Her experience is limited to her own homebirth(s). But she and another gal at the office (and myself, as 'technically' *I* was the one using the doppler, since it's not in my chiro's 'area' ;) ) tried to get a count on the baby's heart rate. She found one right away. Moved around to continue listening. Could distinguish that sound from mine, then the placenta, then...another heart tone? An attempt was made to get a count on each, they were on opposite sides of my belly. There was a notable difference in beats. There was some more belly feelin' goin' on. My chiro agrees my belly just feels like one large, hard mass. Hard to differentiate, but is convinced she feels a head up top. Has felt and said that all along. (and has been keeping an eye on that all along as well as now would be the time that she would become more 'concerned' over it and we'd try to maneuver the babe)
However...there's the possible 2 heart tones thing. If that is the case, the breech baby we feel so obviously doesn't really matter. As this would indicate that the other baby, the one causing all my pelvic discomfort and grinding, would be head down, deep within. Then the 'obvious' one, presently breech, would very likely flip right over once the other was out of the way.

But....this is all just speculation at this point. Thus far no one has been able to get a really good *feel* on things. My chiro did mention asking a mw friend of hers if she could 'happen to be around' the next time I am in for an adjustment and let her get her hands on me. See what she comes up with.

So, um, yeah, there's your update. Was that the kind of update y'all were hoping for?

And weight gain. 21#

I don't blame you, it would be a lot of hassle to go through just to "know"... well... I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for your next appointment! :) Or waiting for your baby(ies) to be born! Ha!

ETA: I do remember having a "firmer" belly with the twins... I couldn't feel a lot of REAL definition, whereas with Eliya I can feel her little head, little bottom and even can tell where her arms/legs are. It's a MAJOR difference. They were born right at 35 weeks and I only gained about 20 pounds with them... I sure am excited for you guys!!!

hubby, master baby feeler, has felt torso and confirmed head down at one point in this pg, otherwise, he has had a hard time differentiating
his last feel was just the other night...I think it was Wednesday

as far as my measurements..I *have* measured bigger, earlier in this pg Just recently it seemed to 'level out'..sort of. It's harder now for either of us to get a confident, accurate measurement. So our 'best guess' lately has shown 'leveling out' measurements.

Then I am now at the point where there just is no room to go 'up' and increase my fundal measurements in that direction. I could just expand 'out'. I normally measure on the small side as it is. And this is the point in my pgs where things taper off for me. I 'catch up' for a while, then things level back off and I resume my usual 1cm 'below'.

And, not everyone carrying twins *will* measure the 'typical' 4+ cm ahead...and certainly not necessarily throughout the pregnancy.

Yeah, I've done a lot of reading on the matter ;)

Today I was looking at some pics of momma's expecting twins and some of them look like they could be MY belly. LOL And others are just as far along and look even smaller than me.

It's crazy! hehe

Wow, Tara! We're all going to be waiting to hear about this one!! :D Definitely post if the midwife is able to determine anything. Good news is, if there is two in there, then you are likely closer to being done than you thought! ;)

Yeah being pregnant with twins is definitely not a text book thing... I am showing WAY more with this one than I did with my twins... and didn't really get big with the twins until RIGHT before they were born... right about 32-34 weeks. I *did* measure a little big all through the pregnancy but not enough to make them say, "Yeah you're definitely having twins" when they measured... each nurse that measured me at my different appointments was SHOCKED I was having twins when I told them... This is where I think "If you would have read my chart before you walked in you would know I was having twins" ::Snort:: Everybody's different that's for sure...

I'm gone for one day and Tara may be having twins!!! Crazy! Are you gonna record the birth? If so, you should post it on youtube so we can learn from you![clapping]

Amber: I hope all goes well with the interview. I've been praying for you my friend.

Kate: how awesome! 1cm and 50% hopefully it won't be long before your little princess is here!

Now about the weight gain.... I've already gained 25# I'm hoping things will slow down. I don't have to eat as much as before in order not to faint. But with Abby I gained 45-50# so I'm trying to do better. But i love eating out!!![halo] 11 weeks to go!

Let's see... I've gained... 12 pounds... but been pretty nauseated this whole time... so I haven't really had a chance to eat a lot, if I could I know my weight gain would be upwards of 28-30 pounds by now... I gained 50-60 pounds with Emma and Helen (my oldest two).

Thanks Esther, we totally appreciate your prayers. No word yet on things, but my photographer always takes a while to get back to me.

Tara, how exciting that there may be twins. It would almost be better to have twins for Dh and I, so we won't have to agree on only one name! Haahaa!!
Ok, so this is from the point of view of a homebirther who works in labor and delivery, so take me with a grain of salt. First of all, of course I think it's wonderful that you are so trusting of the Lord. That is AWESOME, and He is! ;-) Its wonderful to know we have an awesome savior that we can rely on in ALL situations. I would encourage you to continue to pray about this, and really do some "research/info looking" on some of the complications that can go along with twin deliveries. I think Dh and I would want a homebirth with twins if everything seemed to go well, but we would have to pray A LOT. I know there are many complications that CAN happen (and again, we know the Lord knows all that will happen) and I think it would be wise to have the knowledge while making your decisions. KWIM? Yes the Lord knows the day this/these little one/s will arrive, how that will happen, EVERYTHING, but He also asks us to be good stewards of what He gives us, and He does give us knowledge in these situations.
I am by no means trying to tell you what to do, or "scare" you into doing what you and Dh don't want to do, but I have seen some stuff in the short time I have been here in L&D (I know it's a hospital, and homebirth situations can be WAY different) and the Lord does allow situations to arrise, or consequences to happen due to our choices. My heart thinks about what might be if something happens, and it's hard enough to lose a child who we KNEW was really sick, let alone possibly lose one due to choices I made. KWIM?

I hope you know this post was TOTALLY written from a heart that is trying to be super humble, and one that loves you dearly, I am just trying to be the oh-so-loved other side voice. Please forgive me if I have offended you, that was not my intention.

Now on to weight gain....so far my total has run about 1lb. I am a large woman, so I could go a whole pg and not gain anything and still be totally OK. With Noah, my weight gain was the same until about the third trimester when my GD took over. I think it gained like 8 lbs on weeks. That's how we knew something was off! I hope that doesn't happen again, I like the scale staying right where it is! haahaa!!!

I am getting excited about the ultrasound coming up. One of the nurses I work with can operate the one we have on the floor, but I would feel bad if we found out what sex the baby was when Dh wasn't here. KWIM? I am trying VERY hard to not ask! Haahaa!!

Blessings,
Amber
