View Full Version : Um, ahem, talk to me about early pregnancy symptoms
BlessedMommy 03-31-2008, 09:26 AM Maybe I'm just totally reading into things, but this morning when I was grocery shopping, a wave of nausea hit me. Is it possible to get morning sickness this early? Or am I just seeing pregnancy symptoms behind every bush?
PianoMama 03-31-2008, 09:34 AM My morning sickness hit on day 1 of week 7. The first few weeks prior, I could eat whatever I wanted - mostly spicey food! But, this may be it for you!!! How cool would that be???
WooHoo!!! Praying for a BFP!!
When ya gonna POAS?

No earlier than April 8th. A couple of days later would probably be better. Of course I'm going to use Dollar Tree tests and I could re-test if needed. :D
justmeNmine 03-31-2008, 09:49 AM I saw the title of this thread on the home page and was hoping it was you :) I've been really praying for you! Will continue hoping and praying, my friend! For me, morning sickness/nausea was within the first couple weeks of pg (with first), but the fatigue is what hit me really early on, and with my pgs, I "just knew." The circumstances around my first caused a pg test to take place a week too early and of course, it was negative, but I insisted on testing exactly a week later (BFP), because I "just knew it."
Tired, bloating (like nothing I've ever experienced!) and the nausea hit after a couple of weeks. Hoping you get your BFP!!! :D
~Tara~ 03-31-2008, 12:06 PM Well, as far as nausea...mine always seems to crop up IMMEDIATELY upon seeing that positive poas LOL
I swear I am NOT ever going to POAS again!!! :p
But mostly, I've not had any early 'symptoms'. Just a 'feeling' and hub always *knew*.
Nausea generally didn't set in for a few weeks or so and fatigue often hit shortly after that.
savedbygrace 03-31-2008, 01:24 PM Dizzy... like when you bend down to pick something up and when you stand back up you get all light headed. That was my first sign, without really thinking it was a sign (I thought that month was out for me) I was extremely tired and NOt moody!
Godzgirl 03-31-2008, 01:35 PM With my first i felt dizzy, and tired, and just out of it. I got morning sickness a couple weeks after (within the first month). With my second i didn't really get dizzy but i did get morning sickness within a couple weeks of finding out and felt tired more towards the middle of my pregnancy if i remember correctly. Will be praying for a BFP for you Ruth!
BlessedMommy 03-31-2008, 02:35 PM Is being thirsty all the time a pregnancy symptom?
irishmum2boys 03-31-2008, 02:48 PM By the way, I just wanted to say I am excited for you with ttc :) I remember with my 1st pregnancy before I knew that I was expecting I was thirsty for milk! I craved it all the time!
I wil be watching this space & praying!
JoyLynn 03-31-2008, 03:55 PM With my number four baby, Chloe', I started feeling sick eight days before my missed period. It was strong enough I actually tested week before AF was due and got a positive. She was the only one I ever got an early positive with. Must have O'd early with her. :-D
Praying you're preggers, girlfriend. [praywhensad]

This time around I bloated so much that I looked three months pregnant before I even took a pregnancy test, it was gas... a ton of it! Ugh! I normally bloat during pms, but not like that... it was weird, so that was a big clue to me that something was "up".
Normally I see a huge change in my breasts before I get a BFP; darkening of nipples, tender, and they get large quickly. That didn't happen until THIS week this time around tho. :) Normally my dizziness and nausea kick in before the BFP too.
Cheryl 03-31-2008, 08:15 PM Early pregnancy symptoms - sore breasts set in about 2 weeks after O, ("sore" is an understatement, not PMS sore, more like don't-breath-on-them sore), general nausea set in about 3-4 weeks after O......that was about it for me as far as early pregnancy goes. And tired all the time.....oh man, I've never experience exhaustion like that. I wanted to sleep all the time.
With our first, I got "car sick" before af was even due [whatwacko]. With our second, I was crying at every song on the radio, once again, for about 5 days before af was due *rolls eyes*
I hope it's the real thing cause I personally HATE the up and down that goes along with ttc.
I'm going to be the little black rain cloud and say that all those things can also be a sign of impending period. They never were for me until after baby #1 and as yet my period has not returned (still nursing almost full time baby #2) but, I've questioned lately, even tonight, if I might be preggers because of feelings like waves of nausea, light headedness, slight fatigue, sensativity to smells and bloating. While it's possible I may be preggers again, I keep telling myself that those feelings were off and on pressent with ovulation and period for the almost 4 years after baby #1 and the conception of baby #2. I'd say- look for consistent and growing symptoms. So, incase it's not positive GREAT BIG hugs being sent your way but, if it is then !wahoo! and I'm so sorry that you're feeling this crudy this early on=). -ren

You chart, right, Ren? Because you should be able to see from your chart whether there's a chance of you being preggo or not. I haven't had a period in 19 months and I clearly identified my first postpartum ovulation from the mucus patch and dry up and thermal shift.
Up til this last week the baby wasn't consistant enough with nighttime sleeping for me to effectively chart. So, yes, I charted before getting preggers but, haven't been able to since. So, I'm winging it at this point and that's ok cause I don't see any of my signs being consistant or growing. I'm assuming they are just hormonal shifts. I haven't desided when I'll get back to charting. . .I haven't got the umph right now. -ren
Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS!!!! on getting your first O back! Wahoo!

Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS!!!! on getting your first O back! Wahoo!
I started temping at 5-6 weeks postpartum and my temps were a bit bouncy but still fairly consistent pre-shift range. We co-slept, though, so I didn't move around much during the night. Even with this thermal shift, though, I was up usually once in the early morning and it didn't seem to affect the temp.
Recently, though, I got bored with temping and stopped for awhile, since my ovulation didn't seem to be happening. I decided to just write down mucus observations and try to BD when I saw EWCM and ironically, my signs started building up and I O'ed shortly after that! LOL.
GL with charting whenever you decide to go back to it. It's definitely different while nursing. Oh, and thanks for the congrats on the O! We're pretty excited. I thought that at the rate I was going, I wasn't going to be fertile for a couple of years.
