I probably should post this on prayer requests, but I'm gonna put it here instead, since it's totally pregnancy related.

I go to the doc today and we will be discussing early induction to go ahead and start meds as soon as possible. Please pray that God's Will take place in the office today, and that God will give me the right words to convey to the doc how we really feel about the situation, as DH can't get off work to go with me.

thanks ladies,
-Kana

I know you can do it. And if he doesn't agree this trip, schedule one for when your husband can be there and help you out.

I have an appt. myself today. I was going to go alone, but Hubby just called that he got out of class early and is on his way home to go with me. I wanted to ask the midwife a few things without him knowing. OH well. If he wants to watch the group b test, fine. Not like I'm looking forward to that one. When you have the group B, do they do the swabbing or make you do it? Here, they make you do it. I thought that is what I was paying them for. I want to go early, but I don't think I'll be able to get a medical reason. I don't want to induce (greater chance of a c-section with it at this hospital), but I am thinking of trying it naturally in about two weeks.

I hope your dr. is reasonable.

Crystal

May God grant you wisdom and discernment and eloquent speech today. May the doctor be wise and understanding and may the Lord be in total control of the meeting working His will which is good and acceptable and perfect! In Jesus name! Amen! Praying for you today! :D

Thought of you during my appt.

How did it go?

well, they will NOT induce me without a medical reason, like duh, last time I checked this WAS a medical condition, but oh well. they also didn't change my meds, either. he told me to "hang it out and ride the wave". whatever that's supose to mean.

Crissy, for the group B, they do it. You also mentioned "doing it naturally" in two weeks, what are you planning to try? Is this your first pregnancy? I'll take any suggestions, with in reason, LOL.

I guess the OB's weren't trained in mental issues too well. Totally different area of the body, should have no relation, right? Sure (note sarcasm please).

I think I'll pm you about what I am thinking on trying. I have to wait a little bit, I'm 36 weeks and 3 days according the the midwife, 35 weeks and 1 day if you go by my calculations (she told me that even though the way she calculated my due date differed from mine, it really didn't matter since I would probably go a week late anyway  ).

Have you started to soften, eface or dialate yet?

Crystal - over here the midwife does the group b test, not the patient.
I am not even allowed to test my own urine with this clinic :D

Ladies, I know obstetricians can be VERY frustrating sometimes.

Mine has missed a few things lately that have really bugged me and made me wonder if I will go back with him if we decide on a 4th child.
For those of you who don't know, I am having a section because of a low lying placenta. A few weeks ago my Obstetrician was looking at the baby breifly with the US (he uses that instead of a doppler to see the heart beating rather than hear) and I said to him "So where is the placenta now, did it actually move off my scar" and he says to me "Well it doesn't matter since you are having a caesarian" RRRRRRRRRRRRRR
He was actually ment to send me for a high resolution U/S over the matter to let the specialist KNOW where to cut, he missed that too - so my midwife had to frantically arrange to "push me" in somewhere at the U/S clinic to have this done!!!

Then out of conversation I asked my obstetrician (as he was looking at the heart) so how big do you think she'll be and he gave me the same answer "Oh it doesn't matter you are having a caesarian"

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. WELL it mattered to me, I still have to buy clothes for her.

I just think they all have too many patients myself.

Hope everyone elses grievences are sorted out with inductions and so forth

So yes I will pray for you hon, because I understand how frustrating they can be

Wow. I am so sorry. That is weird. The field of obstetrics goes through phases and it must be in one of those " DON'T INDUCE" phases unless the baby's or mother's life is in danger. I am so sorry. I will keep you in prayer. God is still in control here. But that would truly be very maddening! I got my OB to induce me for # 3 because I was so HUGE ( gained 60 pounds) and just couldn't do it any more. I was of course term and was a labor and delivery nurse at the hospital. I was glad that they did though as he ended up being 9 pounds 11 ounces and he had flecks of meconium in his fluid. I am so sorry sweetie! :( But it will all be okay in the end.

oh that's ok now. I'm over the pe'ed off stage, LOL. with my fast deliveries, though, he said once my contractions were five minutes apart for 30 minutes to go to the hospital. With Bri, they started at six a.m. at ten minutes apart, by 7:30 were five minutes apart and by 8:30 were less than two minutes apart and i went from 8 cent. at 8:30 to a full ten cent. right before 9 a.m. for him to be born at 9:06. I think when the contractions are nearer to ten minutes, I'll head that way, LOL. don't want patrick's first ride in the car to be immediately after birth.

Fast labor's run in my family. I'm terrified of the same thing you are! And we live about ten minutes from the hospital! My poor husband is terrified he'll have to pull over half way there and catch her himself (his old music minister had to do that with his son)
