Ok, Abigail started antibiotic on Thursday (she's been on it before and didn't have this problem) so I'm trying to figure out if the runny stinky diaper is from antibiotic or because we started giving her milk mixed with Carnation instant breakfast. Before this, she hadn't had much milk except in pudding, she mostly drinks pediasure. So, any idea is it the milk, instant breakfast, or the antibiotic causing her soupy smelly mess? i think the first one was Friday so 24 hours after starting antibiotic but also day we started the instant breakfast/milk.

I don't have a clue. I would say cut out the breakfast and milk and see if the runny diaper continues and then you will know it's the antibiotic.

I agree with Eva to oust the milk first.

Yeah, that's what I was figuring on doing, taking out the milk/instant breakfast stuff. I needed to try her on it to make sure she'd drink it because surgery next week and then liquids only for 2 weeks. The instant breakfast is something nutritious she can have. We'll see, started antibiotic on Thursday and runny diapers started Friday (same day started instant breakfast).

i would actually say both. we just finished a serious round of antibiotics with our two...and what i do to help (can't avoid completely)....is let them drink and eat yogurt. now i know that is a dairy....and seems counter productive...however....it helps replenish the natural floura they have in their intestines. also, a BRAT diet might help at first (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast). keep the fluids in!!!
