I couldn't resist reprinting this - I know many of you will love it. Too bad all moms aren't like Elisabeth Elliot in taking their concerns to the Lord and overcoming their fears. But we can all learn from her example - and take our concerns about people who don't understand to the Lord.

My advice: when you are expecting a baby and are not greeted with the enthusiasm you should be greeted with - when others think they know what's best for your life - just smile and be confident in who you are and what you're doing. Don't react defensively, but simply overcome their negative reaction with your very, very positive assurance that you are doing something you will never regret in receiving another blessing from the Lord!

thank you, thank you, thank you. I have some family members who......shall we just say it is REALLY obvious.....that are not happy that we are expecting number three. They are focused on the financial. I am a missionary, and my husband is a pastor. I have seen a missionary family (here where i live) with TWELVE kids. They do just fine, b/c the Lord always provides. That was the plan God had for that family. We are going to have number three...and stop there....but I don't like how i get a lot of disapproval. The article helped remind me to be positive...and sure of what the Lord has for us....and to not get defensive (so easy to do). So it is my prayer that our little number three will be such a testimony to my family members.....for God's provision....that even their faith will grow. I'm not sure why other people tend to judge...but i guess that is human nature. It is hard to share our excitement with them though....knowing how they feel.

thanks for sharing the article! :)
