There are a few occasions where I had to break out some formula (although I felt guilty).
Just curious...If you had to supplement, what kind did you or would you use? I used the portable Similac packs with iron because that is what I had (they were free with one of my gift bags). DS seemed ok with it??

Most major brands are all about the same....the more expensive ones are processed more and easier to break down than the cheaper ones, but even the ingredients are about the same in them....as long as I stayed with Similac or Enfamil due to being processed more, my kiddos were just fine! Many people I know used the cheaper Walmart brands, etc and had their kids fine on those...mine just had pretty sensitive systems and needed the extra refining! ;-)

1st off I LOVE your avitar! It is so nice to finally have a face to your *voice* now back to your question, we have always had to give Josh formula from time to time, however now with his being on solids and my milk supply going down even more we are now doing much more formula then I like, and I too feel guilty at time. We have always used Simulac organic. more expensive then other formulas but for us it is worth it. My feeling is if I have to give my baby formula I want it as *pure* as possible. Try not to get down on yourself about formula, you can only do so much and if you have to throw in formula it isn't a big deal. Love ya Gina and I am glad to *see* you are doing good. I am SO glad you are a mommy.

I've had to supplement with formula too and I've always used the cheapest Walmart brand available. It always makes me feel guilty when I see the more expensive brands with all their slogans and additions, but formula is so expensive and my two have seemed to handle it fine.

Really, don't feel bad anyone for buying the cheaper formula...it is vitually the SAME thing, just the refining makes the more expensive stuff finer and breaks down when mixed a little easier....it is ONLY an issue if your little one has digestive issues...if not, go for it! I would! I just didn't have the choice! I tried just never could make it work! Formula IS so expensive!
