I am trying to find some really good exercises while being pregnant and really concerned about harming the baby. Any good recommendations?

Thanks!

they have some really good pregnancy yoga stuff out there to tone and build up gently...also low impact water exercise is also a wonderful exercise method while pregnant to keep stress of your body and the baby and still get your heart a good workout!
Walking was also a great method of exercise for me. Easy and free for that one too! Just wear good shoes for your legs and back and if you are sore, try a pregnancy back support belt, it realllllllly helps!
the key is low impact for your joints and heart/extra blood flow/baby health, stay very hydrated, stop before 'exhaustion' sets in, and try to avoid extreme temps.

Yep, what she said..keep it low key. Now is not the time to go above and beyond what you were already doing. If, however, you were already an active runner, then go with that. Tone it down just a smidge...and continue to do so as your baby/belly grows..but for the most part, if you were doing it before pg, no reason to just *stop* now.

But if you weren't into exercise pre-pg, then low key aerobics, stretching, walking and yoga are good options. Active Birth is a book I often recommend (for learning about why and how to be *active* during birth)..the beginning has a section on yoga.

Leslie Sansone has some great walking videos that are VERY low impact, and you can make them even LESS impact by just not swinging your arms... but the walking in place DOES do something, it's better than nothing, and it works for those of us (okay, me) that don't like to REALLY work out during pregnancy, because I'm too lazy. ;)

I vote for walking too! It's free and readily available. I used a trainer pre-pregnancy and so we continued during pregnancy and that helped me push the baby out in 15 minutes. Exercise is great!
