sis_n_bubsmommy 02-27-2008, 11:13 AM Delaney Hope arrived Friday, 2/15/2008 at 3:38p.m. I went in for my regular dr. appointment and my blood pressure was high, so they sent me up for observation. I had been having some contractions and within 5 minutes of being on the monitor, I had had a contraction and her heartrate dropped. So, they said they were going to induce me. They started me on pitocin; but with each contraction her heartrate kept dropping. They made me lay on my side and gave me oxygen; but her heartrate would not stay right. So they done an emergency c-section and she arrived at 5lbs 13 ounces, 20 inches long. She's beautiful, healthy, and I praise God for watching over her and getting her here safe.

When the doctor pulled her out-the cord was wrapped around her neck twice, under her right arm, around her waist and through her legs. If they had not done the emergency c-section, I shudder to think what might have happened to her. God was really watching out for her and for us.

Yes, it was very surprising! I was just figuring on being monitored for a while, then going back to work-but ended up having a baby instead ;) Thank you for the comment about her name :) We pronounce it Da-lane-ee. It suits her. We didn't have her name picked out until about 20 minutes before she was born. Nothing like waiting until the last minute ;)
