Our littlest ( 9 1/2 mths) still has no teeth! I confess that I'm not great about keeping up with baby books and the like, but I know that all three of my others started way before this, more like 6-7mths. She's been having teething symptoms, lots of drool, sporadic ear pulling on and off for months but there appears to be nothing even close to breaking through. It's starting to be a bit bothersome to her as she is really interested in more 'table' type foods. She's tired of being spoon fed and wants to self feed. She's cut way back on her nursing and never really took to the bottle, went straight to a cup. She can eat cheerios and the like but I've hesitated to give her much more than that. Suggestions or advice? Would you be concerned? We don't do the typical 'well baby' checks anymore here as we're going to vax. late and selectively only. Also since she's our fourth we've sort of BTDT with most things. We do know she's gaining weight and growing well and is right on now developmentally in all other areas.

my youngest had no teeth until she was over a year. at 3 we are still waiting for her last of the 2 year molars to appear. by the time she was 10 months she was eating everything off the table. she didn't really like the pureed baby food

all of mine have been early teethers .. 4-6 mo But a friend of mine, her first, I believe, didn't have a single tooth until 1yr or later. Apparently it's really rather common and nothing to worry about :)
As far as foods..
at least for table foods there's bananas, potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas, corn, even diced cooked carrots, squash...still plenty of things she can eat without teeth. Even babies who have teeth don't really *chew* much..moreso they 'gum' it ;)

My Patrick is 17 months and he has 5 teeth. He's been cutting a few more lately, but he was well near the 1 year mark when he cut the 5 he has. We thought he'd NEVER have teeth.
They're just slow go with him
