I was driving out to the shops with my kids this morning when my 3 year old son suddenly says in a very matter of fact manner "I need to tell everyone that they can't live without Jesus". He then mentioned something about travelling the world to do this and has since told me that everyone includes the kids in the park and the boy next door (just in case I was confused on this point).

So, I aked who told him this (as I was trying to figure our where he would have heard this). He told me that God told him last night. I asked if it was in the middle of the night - he said yes. I asked if we were asleep - he said yes. He also started talking about a big, shining man.

He has a real thirst for learning about Jesus and hearing bible stories (since I gave him a children's bible story book for Christmas). He is quite determined to memorise these particular stories so that he can tell them to me instead of the other way around. The other day he was insisting that we read the stories where Jesus dies and rises again. He told me that it was important that he hears that one a lot because if he "didn't hear it he wouldn't know it". He is a fairly confident little boy and I am sure he would be quite comfortable telling everyone who will listen about Jesus. I'm just waiting to see what he does or says next :).

Don't ya LOVE when it starts to "click" for them?! Our 3 yr old is the same way lately. He goes around to people in the stores and tells them "Jesus loves me." and when they say smile, he might say, "Jesus loves you too." Kinda reminds me of when I felt that infectious love when I first came to know God. He renews my spirit and desire when he says things like that. Ahh..kiddos. How they remind us that we are ALL God's children forever.[jumping]

Wow, that gives me chills :) Sounds like you have a little missionary. My aunt started saying stuff like that when she was about that age, she lived as a missionary in Africa forever. How exciting.

i LOVE IT when they start to get it. At Christmas it seemed like everywhere we went people would ask my kids, are you excited that santa's coming, my 7 yo would say that he doesn't come to our house and that we celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas. one day we had a lot of errands to do, and the cashier asked the question, and my 4 yo said, as serious as he culd be "santa's not coming it's Jesus' birthday, don't you know that"

You are right, Kim, I must write it down. It is so easy to forget these things. Having you mention the memory book jogged my memory about something I had written down before he was born. I had been having a hard time emotionally during the pregnancy (it felt to me like some sort of spiritual battle) and I went to pray with one of our pastors about it. After praying with me he said that he was feeling a really strong sense of God's posessiveness for my baby.
