Ladies,

Good evening. Well, I am in the waiting phase after O. In trying to keep myself occupied, I thought that I would pose the following question:

Which pregnancy symptoms did you experience before you had a BFP?

I am just curious if there are noticeable symptoms prior to a BFP / missed AF. Thanks!

I was EXHAUSTED!!! Also, with this one, since I'm still breastfeeding, I had a distinct dip in my milk supply.

Ah... the proverbial 2WW period... I really hate those 2 weeks! [whatwacko] :P

As for symptoms, what I've HEARD is that many people get no symptoms at all the month they get their BFP... has that happened to anyone on here?

I was definitely tired, and I had very sore and tender breasts- sort of like my period was coming- but it didn't. :-D

My most obvious symptom was a very very LOW back ache. I'd never had any back achiness with AF or when I was pregnant with ds. It was very odd...then a few days later, we got our BFP!!

But, like these ladies will tell you, 1) it's different for everyone 2) it's different for each pregnancy 3) some AF symptoms are the same as pre-BFP.

When it really comes down to it - waiting is the only answer! Trust me, I don't say this flippantly, God has been teaching me about waiting for over a year now...not just in TTC, but in all areas of my life. It's been quite a hard lesson to learn.

hugs to you!

I didn't have any pregnancy "symptoms". I had been charting for 34 cycles so knew from my bbt's that I was pregnant. I POAS, 4 days ahead of my anticipated AF and sure enough.....got a BFP. I also had implantation bleeding which was nothing I'd ever experienced before, so that clued me in.

Hoping your 2WW turns to a BFP!

Ladies,

Thank you for sharing! I wasn't sure if I should be watching for any common symptoms. In general, I don't have have any symptoms prior to AF. I usually have some cramping the day AF starts, but that's about it.

It's truly amazing to me that some of you have actually had a "feeling" that you were pregnant long before a BFP. What a blessing!

PianoMama - I understand your comment about learning to be patient. What makes it so hard is that society tells us that we don't have to wait for anything. If we want something, we can just go out and buy it. If we can't afford it, someone / some institution will lend us the money for it. God has a few miracles that we must wait on, like marriage and children. I've come to terms with the fact that this may be a long journey, as it was for you, but the reward for waiting will be so great! Thanks for sharing!

JoyLynn - I, too, enjoyed you "nins and peedles" comment! I had to think about it for a moment before it made sense (I'm really slow). I didn't mention this in the original post, but I had been a little bit queasy the last few days. Since that symptom can mean so many things, I didn't want to get my hopes up too soon. Thanks for sharing that it was indeed a symptom for you.

Well, I'm going to go back to waiting out this 2WW. Since AF has been slightly irregular (27-30 days), I am going to wait until CD 30 to test (that would be next Wednesday). If AF is going to show up, it should be before then. Again, thank you for sharing, for your hugs, and for your prayers. Keep the advice coming!

We'll hold ya to it - you're already down to less then a week to wait!

Kate,

Thanks for the challenge! I really needed someone or a group of someones to hold me to it! DH is really anxious and can't understand why I won't test sooner. I just don't want to use up tests unnecessarily (and get disappointed). If getting pregnant takes a while, I don't want to go through so many tests that I should have bought stock in First Response! Again, thanks! I'll let you know what happens next week!

Im gonna jump in here too!

DD#1: Went along not knowing until one day I put my pants on that I wore the day before and I could not even zip them. I was already 2 monthes and did not even know. No signs, so I thought, and I have a long irregular period cycle so I did not realize it had not shown. I did start having night time sickness which I thought was just something I ate. It lasted most of my pg.

DD#2: Sore swollen breasts which I never get with pms. My husband noticed before I did that they were swollen. I am very oblivious to my self. LOL. Lots of weird dreams at first.
Which I had forgoten about till this week actually. I started having weird dreams this week and it reminded me. I am very exhausted this week so I am hoping its a new sign for me.
I am waiting until my birthday, the 8th, to test. Though I am due to start next week.
So if the dreams and exhaustion are signs for me, I will add those.

Good Luck. [verycool]
