View Full Version : I'm holding out
Jessy 01-29-2008, 08:04 PM Well, today is my due date, for some weird reason I thought for sure I would go before now, even early in my pregnancy I didn't think I would last this long for some reason. Oh well. We are healthy! :) If I don't go into labor before Thursday I have my weekly appointment with my doctor. He said last week that he would strip my membranes this week IF I wanted. I said no thanks. haha.
Please pray that I can find as much peace and comfort as possible while I wait for my little one. I am getting quite anxious to meet him and am pretty uncomfortable but I am holding out on any intervention at this point. I'm stubborn. LOL Unless he or I start to have medical problems I will hold out. I am so determined to go into labor naturally and have a natural birth but this waiting is getting tough.
TIA for the prayers ladies!
plaid 01-29-2008, 08:28 PM Aww, you are doing great. He will come! You are almost done ~ good job.
I will be praying for you.

Your gonna do great, hun!! I'll sure be thinking of you this week!!! ::hugs::
irishmum2boys 01-29-2008, 10:50 PM It is so hard to wait when it is so close!! I pray you get some rest and just enjoy this time before your precious little ones arrival :) We will be waiting on the news :)
Godzgirl 01-29-2008, 11:19 PM I agree he will come soon. ((HUGS)) I'll be thinking of you praying for you this week too!:-D
tripper 01-30-2008, 12:02 AM Hang in there Jessy! You're almost done! In fact, I'm praying that you go into labour even as I'm writing this :teehee:...
Are you going to try any natural labour induction?
Jessy 01-30-2008, 12:08 AM Thanks for the encouragement! And Tripper, the only methods I have tried so far is walking, walking, walking and doing some exercises on my exercise ball (thanks Jen for that idea) lol. It's the only thing I've really been comfortable with. :) I'm hoping to go into labor before Thursday but we will see. I can't walk outside because we got another 6 or so inches of snow today. I might try going to the mall tomorrow to walk. It would be good for me to get out!
JoyLynn 01-30-2008, 02:58 AM I'm praying for you, too, Jessy! You're doing a great job of being patient, hon. The time is near. Any minute now. [hug]

~Tara~ 01-30-2008, 09:52 AM Aww
I know those last few weeks are hard to begin with, we get so impatient. But then boy, you go over that 'due date' and it can feel rather crushing.
Just remember that the date is simply an 'estimate'. God knows when this little babe is to come. And apparently he just needs a wee more time than the doctors thought.
Hang in there, trust that your body is doing what it needs to be doing by hanging onto this little fella a little longer. Just let it do its thing. A little more patience momma, just a little more. :)
*big hugs*
Rest in Him
PianoMama 01-30-2008, 09:57 AM Hey Jessy!! God is just now starting to develop in you the patience you need to be a good mommy! [halo] Trust me, it's not easy when God is teaching you (and me), His daughter, how to be patient. <sigh> If I were you, I would try to do as much as possible to keep my mind off of, *when, oh when is this baby coming?* Maybe try journaling some of your thoughts for your little one to read many years down the road.
Blessings to you on your waiting and your labor - whenever that may be!
((hugs))
BlessedMommy 01-30-2008, 11:04 AM Hang in there! And yes, it's good to stay away from medical interventions. Don't forget that anywhere between 37-42 weeks is full term. There's no need to worry until at least 42 weeks. My daughter was born two days shy of 42 weeks. I was going crazy! But she was beautiful and healthy, that was her time to be born.
Hang in there girl! I know exactly how you feel, I was 10days late with my first but I, like you, was holding out for baby to come naturally. And I did start labor on my own without any medical intervention. I know each day over your due date is terribly full of impatience and those "come on baby, come out" feelings, but when you look at the big picture, you will be holding that baby in your arms in no more than a couple of weeks. Heck, you've waited 40 weeks, what's a couple more days. Hang in there girlfriend, you're nearly at the finish line. Praying for you!
Jessy 01-30-2008, 12:32 PM Thanks so much ladies! These words mean so much more than you know. It's taxing but well worth it to make sure its the right time and not necessarily my time. I think I might try getting out a bit today if the roads clear, I've been at home the past couple of days because of the terrible weather we are having. I don't think that helps since I'm sitting here just waiting KWIM?
Bekah_E 01-30-2008, 02:39 PM aww.. not too much longer! i am thinking about you and praying for you... :hugs:
KansasMom 01-30-2008, 06:59 PM Jessy...my prayers are with you...what more can I say then what has already been said...when you hold that precious little boy...all this waiting will be worth it!
May the Lord bless you with patience while waiting and may your labor come quickly!
Melanie
Praying for you still, hun!!! I hope that baby comes soon and gives you some relief!!
tripper 01-31-2008, 10:53 PM Keep on keepin' on! (Can't remember where I heard that expression from...) :)
I was rather touched by the idea of journaling your thoughts and feelings - how cool would it be for your ds to be able to read that later on in life?
