I just called the doctor's office to get the results and I talked to the nurse and she said it positive, but really low. It was only 85 and should have been at least 100 (she gave me some other numbers, but I don't remember them and wasn't able to write them down). She said the doctor is going to call me later and he definitely wants me to come back for another blood draw tomorrow, but it's just really low right now.

So I'm really worried right now....

I just talked to the doctor and he was a lot more reassuring than the nurse was. He basically said not to worry about it until we see what my levels are tomorrow afternoon. He didn't seem concerned about it being low, so I guess we'll just wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Can I ask what is low? 85 strikes me as a blood sugar but that is in normal range. WBC, RBC, and HGB are different numbers than that. Was it anemia he is concerned with. Or are we talking HCG level? Sorry. Ex-nurse. Need more info. I will be praying either way sweetie!

sweetie, according your last posts....your are just now really due for your period, 85 isn't that low for that early as long as they double every 48 hours....good luck!

All of my quantitative hCG's were very low in the beginning. It can be fairly normal. I did need to be given Progesterone with my number three because the numbers weren't there, but with my other three kids, I didn't require any hormonal supplementing, even though my hCG's were low. I'm just glad your doctor pays attention to those things. I've watched so many women go through miscarriages because their docs wouldn't check or seem to care. I would absolutely have lost Courtney if it weren't for the Progesterone. It was a very, very, very simple fix, that without it, would have resulted in miscarriage number five for me. The other miscarriages (all between babies two and three) I didn't demand testing with. Why some doctors often won't even look at the numbers befuddles me.

My mom had low numbers with all three of hers, as well, and never required any supplementing. Some ladies are just slow hCG builders. Occasionally, it has to do with later implantation, but this is rare since hCG doubles every other day, so it only takes looking at your numbers twice in two to four days to rule out timing of implantation.

Thanks ladies! Had the second blood draw a couple hours ago, so now we're just waiting for the results. I should have them by tomorrow afternoon. The good news is that my doctor must not be too worried about my number so far because he gave me a proof of pregnancy for my insurance already!!
