View Full Version : Ok seriously this is getting ...
old. Abby has this thing she does to "attempt" to get my attention. She bangs her head on the floor and then cries and comes to me. I just ignore her but she keeps doing it. And she hits me. :x I just ignore her but she doesn't seem to be learning.
Today she banged her head on the coffee table  On purpose  I quickly looked to make sure she was ok and then switched off and ignored her.
Is this normal behaviour for a 2 year old? And when will it end? I have a feeling it is because I am pregnant and she is not happy. But I don't understand. I give her tons of love and attention. I play with her with her Duplo and read to her and color in with her and all sorts of things. I give her tons of kisses and hugs. Honestly, I can't even lie on the couch without her coming and jumping on top of me to lie down with me LOL
Why would she even feel like doing this?
I remember my toddlers I taught doing that [whatwacko]
My guess is she's completely and utterly bored and needs something new to do.
I know this probably not the greatest time for you to be trying to entertain a toddler [whatsmack]
But I'm thinking [whatthink] She probably needs something different in her life....
[jumping] Ooh ooh oooh! I remember what we did for Angela at that age to keep her active and happy.....We bought her a ball pit...Here they cost about $30....not sure about there....but a blow ball pit with lots of little plastic balls is a dream come true for a two year old and might come in handy when you're giving the new baby your attention
Oh I saw them at The Warehouse ages ago and wanted to buy one but it was expensive and we couldn't afford it at the time. She has a playhouse outside (my parents gave it to her for her bday) and a blow up bouncy castle and a sandpit (FIL gave to her for Christmas I think) and a pop up tent  Let's just say she is spoiled
I know I need to rotate her toys again.. .she's been playing with the same ones for quite awhile now and she is most probably bored of them. Thanks for reminding me!
Renee, Bless her cotton socks!! She is such a cutie tho! (in her picture on your siggy). Anyway, Its not going to stop you know. She will stop banging her head on the floor only to pick up with shoving peas up her nose. Girl, IT WONT STOP!! There is no end to the madness when children are involved!! Id just stay calm. Keep giving her the attention you are giving her. She is craving more because I bet she senses a big change is on the way. But even if you werent expecting she might be doing the same things. I think its just harder on moms when theres more than one kid to think about (and you being pregnant). She'll grow out of it, then move on to pea shoving or worm eating or something else.
[rofl] so true! I stuck green playdough in my ears as a kid! LOL
I did so much naughty stuff I am surprised my parents didn't go insane and kill me  Seriously! And all under the age of 5

Growing up did you ever hear, "I can't wait until you have kids..."? Sounds like their wish came true!!! LOL
 I think so! And I'm sure they enjoy seeing Abby playing up for me LOL
I'm guessing with you being all big and preggars that she doesn't get out much to see all that cool stuff outside ( at least would not )...I would try rotating the toys...I really do believe, based on my experience and training that she's bored out of her pretty little mind [whatwacko]

Renee, I'm sorry your going through this sweetie. [hug] I agree with Gen, I think she knows that there will be changes to come in the future but I think she'll grow out of it.

No we don't get out much... I had my appointment with the midwife today and it is nice and fine for once outside. So she got to go for a walk in her stroller. She loves doing that.
She seems ok today. I haven't yet rotated her toys. But she seems fine. :?
Perhaps she just really wanted my attention at the time and I wasn't able to give it to her.

Glad to hear that she is doing better! Praise God!
