As some of you might remember from a prior post of mine, my 17 month old DD has discoloration on the backs of her front teeth. Her dental appointment isn't until next month, but in the meantime I've seen some spots on her teeth that look like corroded enamel.
But then I stumbled into some interesting information.
Here's the thing: I had extremely severe skin problems during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. It was so severe that I had to take some dermatologist prescribed cortisteroids (Triancinolone Acentonide Topical) in order to keep it at a level where I could function at all. Even with the medication, the skin problem was severe enough to disrupt my life pretty badly. Now I'm reading that certain medications have the ability to affect tooth formation in utero. And interestingly enough tooth formation in utero happens primarily in the 2nd half of pregnancy. I took Triamcinolone from around 20 weeks of pregnancy to full term.
I can't seem to find information though that tells whether the cortisteroids that I took had the ability to affect tooth formation. Could you ladies point me to any good resources?
