View Full Version : Woohoo!
Jessy 01-23-2008, 12:28 PM I woke up at 8:15 to an actual contraction :) :) :) Baby definitely dropped last night, hub and I noticed immediately upon my sitting up this morning. I'm so excited and have bundles of energy yet I couldn't sleep a wink last night and ended up on the couch. I had an awesome time of prayer/meditation. :) It filled me up so much, it was a wonderful time with the Lord! I have such peace about everything!
Well, I cleaned the kitchen and still have energy, I think I'll vacuum and let the contractions continue and hopefully get stronger! Just wanted to let you all know as I am super excited at this point. Will keep you posted.
The Lord is so great!

Jessy 01-23-2008, 01:54 PM Ok, I've taken a small break and think I will shower. Contractions are still coming but not consistent or getting too much stronger yet. Maybe I'll go walk around a bit. My tummy is just hard as a rock, pretty much constantly, I wonder if thats normal?! Normal, ha, whats normal when it comes to labor, I humor myself lol.
I would do all the things that you want done RIGHT before the baby is born!!! Got any freezer meals made? got the nursery or where the baby is sleeping ready? Carseat in car? Your hospital bag ready? It sure sounds like you're in full swing now!! I always got the big burst RIGHT before I went into REAL labor!!! Wow!!! I'm so excited for you!!
savedbygrace 01-23-2008, 02:24 PM How Exciting! I'll be thinking and praying for you. keep us posted.

Yeah, Jayne, I'm watching this thread closely too!! Ha!
Jessy 01-23-2008, 06:02 PM Ok well, still have bundles of energy however the contractions are not getting any more consistent, maybe a bit stronger but not more frequent. I don't want to get discouraged though, I'm sure my body is getting ready to head in full swing, am trying to relax but all this energy, it's just killin me to sit here! Have been walking as much as I can, it feels quite uncomfortable since he is SOOO low.
Thanks for the encouraging words, thoughts and prayers :)
Godzgirl 01-23-2008, 06:08 PM YAY! So excited for ya! Like the other ladies mentioned i will be keeping a close eye on this thread to see what progres has been made. :-D
Do you have a birthing ball you can squat on?? That helps to move things along, if your body is gearing up the way it *seems* to be! That really helped with mine, when I *knew* that it was *time*, I would squat on my ball... if you don't have a ball I wonder if sitting on a soft surface indian-style would do the same thing... maybe try doing some squatting! Maybe your labor just isn't going to be rough and this *is* it? Ya never know!!
PianoMama 01-23-2008, 10:51 PM Our internet has been down all day - I'm so excited to hear of your progress! Keep us updated - praying!
4HisGlory 01-24-2008, 03:38 AM OH I am SO excited for you! I can't wait to hear baby news! Praying for you!
Jessy 01-24-2008, 02:19 PM Well, still no baby [sadashamed] I am trying to keep my chin up. Just sporadic contractions, not consistent but definitely present, some more than others. I know my "due date" isn't until Monday but with my body giving me all these signals I thought for sure it would be full swing by now, or at least a bit more consistent. Oh well, it's bound to pick up sooner or later.
Jen, I don't have a birthing ball. :( I think that may help. I was reading in my book about other squatting positions though. I may give those a try. Dh and I went to the mall last night to walk. I made it around about 2-1/2 times which is a good amount of walking. I was cramping pretty bad but contractions didn't pick up like I thought they would.
Oh well, it will happen when peanut is ready to debut. :) I need to have patience. I was doing fine until I found out I was dilated to a 3 and my body started contracting and such. I got anxious then, I need to just give myself a break and let things "run their course".
Thanks for listening to my vent and for checking back. I appreciate any advice you would like to offer!
PianoMama 01-24-2008, 02:24 PM Advice: "Don't be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, let your requests be made known to God." Hang in there, Lady! It won't be long!
4Angelz 01-24-2008, 03:19 PM Oh boy! I'll be praying.
Jessy 01-24-2008, 03:54 PM Awww Kate, thanks for that reminder. :) Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up and anxious. Pregnancy hormones and being so uncomfortable doesn't help LOL. I think I will spend some time in prayer regarding this. I just want to curl up with my bible and have some prayer time. :) The Lord is so great!
Well Walmart sells exercise balls that aren't expensive and that's what I used... isn't it the same thing? It DID give me a lot of comfort with my pelvic pain... ugh... might be worth sending DH over to get one... I know as I get further along, I AM going to get one!!!
PianoMama 01-24-2008, 05:12 PM Awww Kate, thanks for that reminder. :) Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up and anxious. Pregnancy hormones and being so uncomfortable doesn't help LOL. Your welcome...just remember, in about 12 or so weeks, you'll have to remind ME about this!
((hugs))
Jessy 01-24-2008, 08:17 PM Jen, I was going to get an exercise ball but didn't know if it would be worth the investment. Now I'm wishing I had one. Maybe I will run to Target (or send hubby) this evening. I think it might help with my bad hip pain that I've been having as well. :)
Kate, I will try to remember that in 12 weeks (thats not really that far off) :) How exciting!
Yeah, and also I had bad tailbone pain and it was the only "chair" I could sit on in my second and third trimester with the twins! Man did it make a difference!!! I *did* look pretty funny sitting on nothing but that though... but hey, when you have relief, who care what you look like! HA!
Jessy 01-24-2008, 08:38 PM LOL, yeah, at this point, I really DON'T care what I look like haha. It's all about comfort. I did well until about a month ago and that all went downhill. Even my maternity pants aren't very comfy anymore so I wear pj pants when around the house. And makeup, hah, I really have to be motivated to do that. I never would have thought I would go out and about w/o SOME type of makeup and my hair not done. Needless to say sittin around on a ball is nothing haha, I'm glad dh understands. It won't be like this forever.
plaid 01-24-2008, 11:18 PM I will keep you in my prayers! It seems like your time is getting closer.
Blessings!
Kathaleen
