Okay ladies, please forgive me but I have a question that may be embarassing to some. Personally I don't get embarassed very easily but I just wanted to apologize ahead of time for those that do.

Here is the question. Every time I have an "O", my uterus contracts. (normal, yes?) it doesn't hurt and there are no after cramps or anything but is it bad to have too many "O"? Is it unsafe, because you are causing the uterus to contract often? Let's just say my libido is running on full throttle!

From what I understand this should be perfectly safe in a low risk pregnancy. I've experienced similiar symptoms in the past. I think that as long as things calm down within a little bit afterwards things are fine. During my last two preg. I was classified as high risk and my docs were quite specific in their instructions regarding what was and was not okay in my situation. They were up front about it (in other words they didn't wait until I posed questions). I think they would let you know if they had any concerns for you in this area. Since

I've understood the same as beth. That it's safe as long as it's not a high risk pregnancy.

Yes, it is normal. Even when you're not preggers, your uterus will contract following orgasm. It's just that there isn't the "accent" on that muscle as much during non-pregnant times and you can't feel it as much.
My doctor explained it to me that it feels to the baby, as if you're rocking it. (makes sense). I was told that it was fine during to climax. Once I reached the end and started to thin and dilate, however, she said to back off on the number of times between like 35-37 weeks. I always dilate early and labor late, so she didn't want the sex related contractions to trigger labor. Once 37 weeks come along, though, we were given the "get it on" approval.

ps. I'm not an "easily embarrassed" person either, so it didn't bother me.

Ditto here... I had that happen EVERY time we made love... and for us, our love making didn't seem to effect my cervix at all, so I think it just depends on your individual body... we were a pretty active couple, every night to every other night, and I had no problems... the cramping and contracting would go away and everything would be normal after that. :) And ditto what a PP said about it being okay as long as you weren't high risk.

Thanks everyone! I knew that having sex and all was okay. but to have multiple O's is what concerned me. I didn't know if one right after the other was too much for my uterus.
Thanks again, for putting my mind at ease!
