Just out of curiosity what do you all do/use for your teething baby? Is there anything you have found to help them sleep better?

I use Hylands' Teething Tablets. My daughter loves them and they're homeopathic, so I don't feel bad about giving them to her. When it's really bad, I give her Ibuprofen (her pediatrician recommended that over Tylenol because it reduces the swelling). We're in the trenches of teething right now...she's working on her two top teeth and I wish they would just come in already!!

I do the same thing. I've also found "GUmmomile" at the whole foods store. It works better then Hylands, I've found...but it doesn't taste good...but it works in a few seconds.

I have used Hyland's with success with 'most' of mine 'much' of the time. I also found a homeopathic liquid made by Orajel (yeah, if you can believe that) I always forget what it's called Argh! But, it was right there in the same section next to the Hylands.

The first homeopathic remedy I used with mine though, was licorice root. Just a few drops for a 'dose'. Adminstered like you would Tylenol..that same 4-6 hr frequency. It helps with the inflammation.

I have also used chamomile tincture for the calming effect.

There are times when the Hylands doesn't seem to cut it. That's when I prefer the licorice root..at least like half a dose at the same time as the Hylands, or alternate. The licorice root tincture just really seems to do the job at easing that inflammation that gets mine so miserable.

thanks ladies Josh is having an ok time teething but there are times that nothing seems to help. right now I am using hylands and tylenol. I just wish I had somthing else. I looked for the GUmmile, but couldn't find it. Tara are you using just a normal adult licorice root tinc. or is it a kids one? Also can babies have camomile tea? is there a site anyone knows of that tells you of the herbs babies can have?

I just use the adult one..I'm not worried about the miniscule alcohol content. But by all means, look for a children's alcohol free one if you'd like. I'm not sure if there is one, with it not specifically being a 'kids blend' kind of thing. I never noticed a kids version, but then I never *really* looked either. And yes, babies can have chamomile tea..just don't add any sweetener to it and be sure it's not too warm. I posted a site not long ago, the only thing I had stored on this computer with some kid safe herbs..I think 'crunchy' was the one who asked for 'kid/pregnancy/nursing safe herbs site' something like that.
Ok, here it is: http://www.naturalark.com/children.html I don't know what all is there, it was one of those fly by things and I decided I better bookmark it ;)
