View Full Version : I Love Maternity Clothes
I just wanted to say it... I LOVE Maternity clothes... I wish we could just WALK around in maternity clothing ALL the time, don't you? I mean, super stretchy waist bands, stretchy fabric everywhere else, long-ish tops that are still stylish; and let's not forget that you're allowed to be VERY curvy in maternity clothes... it's like every woman's dream. I just wish we could get away with this our entire lives... ya know?
You guessed it... I got my first maternity clothes in and am wearing them, and ahhhhhh it feels so good... I can bend over and sit at my desk without feeling that immediate CRUNCH on my fundus... then having to adjust my pants so I can sit comfortably. I LOVE elastic... elastic is our friend.... anyone else enjoying their maternity clothes? ::raises hand::
4Angelz 01-18-2008, 11:22 PM LOL! My exact sentiments! I had a hard time letting go of the maternity gear I had after #3. Now I'm just loving them while they last. I'll probably try to wear them for as long as possible after this baby too... hehehe!
PianoMama 01-18-2008, 11:34 PM This is me ~ raising my hand HIGH!!!
Hooray for maternity clothes!!!
Jessy 01-19-2008, 01:35 AM Oh yeah! LOL except, I've outgrown some of my favorites, especially the tops. I refuse to buy new ones at this point though, as I have such little time left. But yeah, I think it's going to be hard giving up my elastic waisted pants :(
savedbygrace 01-19-2008, 04:21 PM Yes, Maternity or anything with a drawstring!
I just went shopping and I bought 2 dresses, 1 skirt, 2 shirts and 2 pairs of maternity nylons.
One thing I do hate! BRA's!!! I didn't like wearing them when my girls were small and humble and I hate them now that the girls are large and in charge!
::snort:: Esther, you crack me up! I hate bras too and found the perfect sub... a shelf bra tank! My "small and humbles" fit perfectly in a small/medium and they are comfy and perfect to nurse in!!! They are also way cheaper than BRAS! :)
4Angelz 01-19-2008, 08:29 PM LOL! No way can I lose the bra now... although I absolutely hate them. Some people don't understand, but they truly make me feel hotter than I already am. Grrrr. Bra Strike over here.
PianoMama 01-19-2008, 09:27 PM Bras over here are affectionately (or not so!) called Booby Traps! hehe! Shelf bra tanks don't work for me - sag city! Esther, even drawstrings aren't comfortable for me!
Now I just gotta figure out what I'm wearing to church tomorrow when the windchill is 30 below! BBrrrrr!!

I know this is sooo hard. I live in NM so it doesn't get frreeezing cold, but it does get cold (yesterday was 12 degrees) and I only wear skirts and dresses. I hate tights and so my legs are cold. Oh, I can not wait until the warm weather comes back!!

My problem with wearing just the shelf bra tanks are my Nipples!!! they always are perkin' up! and the last thing I need is for Abby to poke them in the middle of church and ask what those bumps are!

[rotfl] You crack me up girl!

ROFL! I can just picture Abby doing that, too funny! hehehe
But on a more serious note, the bra tanks work wonders when you are breastfeeding at home and are feeling engouraged. They are super comfy to use them to sleep in as well. :)
yeah, that's why I wore them, was mainly for nursing... it was such a lifesave because I HATE nursing bras... with a passion... seriously.
And Esther... you could always use duct-tape on your nipples to keep them down! :) ::snort:: I understand, I had the same issue... I am a layer wearer, so that wasn't too bad of an issue, and then once I was nursing I had the nursing pads in to help keep the "bumps" down. ::snort::
~Tara~ 01-20-2008, 05:57 PM Ha!
I have the same problem with those lightweight/shelf/unpadded...whatever kind of bras. Yeah. Rather 'nipply' here :rolls eyes:
I like my maternity clothes in that they cover me, but I'm honestly not overly thrilled with them. Right now, I pull up my maternity pants way more often than I pulled up my regular pants. (which, I still wear most of the time mind you) But I DO like having comfy shirts that stay down over the hump teehee

DUCT TAPE! okay maybe bandaid's are a good idea, but I think duct tape just might rip my nipples completely off![whateeeeeksign]
Oooo... well, at least you wouldn't have "the problem" anymore! Ha!

Ouch, the thought of that makes me cringe! LOL:neutral: No more breast/feeding advice from Jen haha!
cjropher 01-21-2008, 01:07 AM I'm still in some maternity clothes, but I'm not crazy about them. Maybe it's knowing that I used to wear others and it's a self issue thing. I do like the long shirts though. Not so found of lifting my arms and showing off what 3 kids and gall bladder surgery (and a sweet tooth) will do to my abdomen! LOL But I don't like the way they are cut after I'm not pregnant. Maybe I stretched them, but they seem to hang funny on me.
The nursing bras. So annoying. I have two right now that I was measured for, but they don't stay up and then I get this bulge above the bra that's boob escaping. I'm always trying to discreetly pull up my bra and tuck them back in. Shelf bras just won't do the trick for me! But seriously, (and in a hijack attempt here) is there actually a good bra out there. I have issues with every single one I own.

ROFL!!!!!!
I would say go to a department store and just grab a handful of different kinds in all different sizes... when *I* finally did that, I found out I was a completely different size from what I thought!!!
