they are so weird...I never remember feeling the baby hiccup like that with either of my other two...my whole tummy rythmatically "jumps" with each one...it is the most awesome and yet weird feeling...
Does anyone know what causes them?
I just had to share cuz it was so neat and weird to me!:-D

Yep what Tara said, its in preparation for breathing outside the womb. Every single one of my babies were hiccupers. My older children always loved feeling my tummy than. The memories I remember so well, enjoy them sweetie!

maybe that is why I don't remember them with my other two...they were both early due to high blood pressure and this is the longest I have ever carried a baby before...it is definitely a different feeling...my dh just can't believe it!

It seems as though mine gets them every night when I sit or lay down to relax. Pretty amazing, at first I couldn't figure out what it was and then I used my stethoscope :) It is fascinating to me as well.

I felt my little one hiccup for the first time about 4 or 5 weeks ago - it was the first time that ds felt the baby too!

Mine often gets them in the evening like that too. Either shortly before bed as hub and I sit watching tv, relaxin' for a bit..or once I lie in bed...or both LOL This kid seems to hiccup a LOT :p
mine have always been big hiccuppers! :) This baby not so much yet... but there's plenty of time! :)

I actually never felt my daughter hiccup. I kept waiting and it never happened. One night, we did see her "practicing" breathing (I would hold my breath for about 5 seconds and we could see my belly moving up and down as though I was breathing anyway), though...that was pretty neat![verycool]

My daughter used to get them a lot. She used to keep me awake at night with them - and they seemed to go on and on for ages. She seemed to get the hiccups a lot as a newborn too.

I am right there with you! With this one; I have been feeling baby hiccups like crazy and with my other two-I never felt them once. Guess that's why they say 'third times a charm?' ;)
