Hi-I was just wondering if anyone has any myths or old wives tales or even tried and true natural labor inducers? I'm not anxious for 'Little One' to come yet; but it's something that has been on my mind today and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

but sex and nipple stimulation will often help things move along if things are ready to go ;)

Yeah, I second the sex thing. That's what sent me into labor both times.

also mineral oil. worked for me. but it could cause the baby to have a bm in the womb.

walking and eating eggplant. It seemed to work for us. My dh was one of those types that was paranoid about having sex in the end. Oh yeah and there is a pressure point around the calves and I think in the foot.

Castrol Oil is a good one. It sent my mom into labor with my sister. Make sure you put it in orange juice though since it tastes nasty!

Well, for me, with my first I went into labor about 4 hours after sex. With my second, it was about 8 hours after sex. I would say that baby has to be ready for it to work, well for any of the natural inducers to work. With my first we were trying to start labor cuz I was 10 days late and they were waving induction in my face. With my second, we were *not* trying to start labor but it started anyway and he was born 3 1/2 wks early. He must have been ready to come out...LOL. So, if baby is ready to come out then he/she will come. Praying it'd be soon for ya!

Well, all during those last couple of months the sex 'helps' things along. But when things are *ready* to go..my labor has kicked in within hours of sex each time. I mean, like 4 out of 5 times we have had sex and labor started within a couple of hours. I think 3 hrs max before it was 'full on' steady contractions that could be identified as *labor*.

I guess it just goes to prove that God knows best and when the baby is ready, the baby is ready no matter what natural inducers you use...cuz we're still here!

Still it is fun to think about and try various ways to get things moving!

I'll walk but I'm not quite to the point of being so motivated to have sex. LOL If it comes down to it I might try but I really hope I go from walking :)

Thank you, ladies, for your input on this. I'm not ready for her to come out just yet; but was just wondering what really worked. I never had this problem with my other two. I do have a question on the sex one-does it only work if I 'o'?
