My son is 9 yrs old and I am definately a list maker and require a chore chart. However, I think I failed this summer. I know that he has had plenty of ice cream but he hasn't been drinking his milk like the rest of the time so...
in the process of setting up his weekly check list that I post on the fridge I want to add a couple of things that are actually my responsibility but since I forget I want to add it to his list.
What other things could I add to make sure that I and he do our thing?

Do you mean things that moms oversee while kids are growing up?
Maybe:
Bible and prayer
teeth care
laundry
dietary (maybe a food pyramid would help?)
fresh air and exercise
academic skills (refresher or suppliment)
talent development
appointments (making them! dental, vision checks, checkups, etc)
social skills (manners, friendship development)
Kids could be overwhelmed by a list that includes all of these! I'm not sure what you had in mind, so forgive me if I'm off the mark.
Boy, we moms have a lot on our plates, huh? :)

You are on the right page!
He has a morning routine and bedtime routine list posted in his room where he can check it off. It includes his teeth, making his bed, picking up his dirty clothes, taking his vitamin, and practice his guitar.
I hadn't thought of his diet (a food pyramid will be perfect) or the friendship and social skills. I also hadn't added bible and prayer but plan to focus on it a little more than I had been.
Do most parents actually take the food pyramid into consideration every day?

It's me again! I found a website that allows you to type in their age and sex along with the normal amount of activity and it works up a food pyramid based on that.
Thanks so much!

cool website. i done the kids and me and brian it was quiet interesting to say the least.
Great site! I think I'm going to print off a few as FYI. Sometimes the kids roll their eyes at my choices and this might help them see. I don't use the pyramid daily, but try to make sure that by the end of the week everything is balanced. Tuesdays we buy veggies, so often that day is given over to eating meals made up of almost all fresh things.
