I got an ultrasound and the midwife and I only saw ONE baby, but it was an old machine and I feel I can still hold onto my hope of having more than one baby in there! :) The baby is measuring right on, 11 weeks, 3 days. :) The baby's heartrate is 168! My girls were all 140, so does this mean it's a boy?? :) I would LOVE for it to be a boy! I'm still praying hard!! Everything looks great and I go back next month for my next check up and to schedule the *big* ultrasound where we find out the sex of the baby!!! I'm so excited! My next check up is the DAY of my birthday (the 15th) so I will get to schedule the big ultrasound on my b-day. We get to find out the sex (hopefully) around my birthday... what a great birthday present!! I'm just so thankful that everything is okay! Praise the Lord for His mercy in protecting me and this baby! :) I'm so thankful!

I had always heard the faster heart rate meant girl.
But, you know, that's hardly any more accurate than the old wives tales :p

I know it... I read online that it's up there with the "tie a ring to a string and dangle it over your belly"... since the baby's heart rate can be effected by so many things... :) We'll see!! Next month to be exact!!! Lord willing anyway!

After my 4 boys even when they said girl on my ultrasound for #5 I didn't believe them. And after her birth since she was a premie I only saw her with a diaper for a bit. And only truely believed girl after I did a NICU diaper change, he he.

HA! That's funny Renee!!! I just *really* had a feeling there were TWO in there... and I can't help but still feel that little nag... but I *DO* have a strong peace that this is a boy... I think we're pretty settled on Liam Thomas if it IS a boy. :)

That's great news! Glad everything is well. As for the old wives tale about heart rates...my dd's was low and my ds's was high...so who knows. ;) And if it is a boy....great choice on a name! I'm kinda partial to that one myself! lol

Wow, if your next scan is in 4 weeks and you'll only be 15 weeks along...that's really early to tell gender...(maybe I didn't understand the post! LOL) Hope you can tell by then! Congrats on everything looking good so far....both of my boys started in 160's and then tapered after the first trimester to the 150/140's....

Sorry... I go in for a "check up" in five weeks, I'll be 16 weeks... and am *not* getting an ultrasound that day, but getting one *scheduled* for when I am 18-19 weeks pg. :) I was just in a flurry to get it all out that I didn't type it correctly. :)

So happy things are progressing well for ya! It sure would be neat if you had a boy (you know I can relate to that feeling, lol), but either way I know you'll be so blessed by a new addition. BTW, I've got a whole list of boys names I never got to use if you need them :-). I like Liam though, pretty cool.

Liam is pronounced, "Lee-um". Kind of an "unusual" name I guess, but we sure like it. :) My MIL is crazy about that name... so everybody would win. :)

If we had TWIN boys... they would be named Solomon and Liam, probably. :) Dunno!! Good question! I joked with Tommy that if we ever named a son Solomon, that I would call him "Solo", like star wars. :)

I also heard that the faster the heartbeat the more likely it was to be a girl. I have a co-worker who named his son Liam and I think it is a beautiful name!
