View Full Version : Toe numbness

Last time I went and saw my midwife she said that the baby was laying on my spine and it was a wonder that I am not having back ache (Grace of God working there!) BUT, over the weekend I have noticed my two middle toes on my right foot have been getting numb for NO reason. I keep my feet warm, unrestricted but there is persistent numbness in them which I have never had before.

I am always wriggling them, but it's like a persistent "dead arm" effect

Could this be from the baby resting on my back?

I don't know. I would ask the midwife. It could be... all those things are connected aren't they? I mean the nerve in the spine is connected to nerves that go down your legs and into your feet?

Yes the nerves are all in the spine.

I am going to see my Obstetrician in about a week and a half so if it's still there I will tell him.

During my second trimester I had lots of trouble with my leg hip down falling asleep. It seems to have gone away, if it got worse my Dr. was going to have me learn some excercises from a physical therapist.

Due to water retention I don't think it's uncommon to have numbness but I would still definitely tell your OB.

With my first pregnancy my right hand stayed numb all the time and my fingers especially, they would tingle and be so irritating! I would wear an ace bandage to help. I believe it was due to where Justice was positioned and water retention. Doc was not worried at all, it was just irritating for me. Got better only after Justice was born and a few days after actually.

Sounds like it may be from your little one, but always better to hear it from a doctor!
