Hi! i have been keeping up with my fundal height and for a week now, I'm measuring at 26 weeks when I'm actually 30 3/7. that's a month behind.
i have even had people that know me well if it was "time" b/ c I have appeared to 'drop".
I go to the doctor today, and hopefully will find out something. i fell last sunday (week and three days ago) and am bruised from it, could that have caused something? his heartbeat is fine and all, so they sent me home that night.
should i ask the doc to do a vaginal today?
I'll repost this evening when i get back.
thanks,
kana

Are you fairly sure that your due date is correct? Many times fundal height appears to be off, because the due date was miscalculated, due to irregular ovulation, not having a last period due to breastfeeding, being on birth control pills prior to conception, etc. etc. Also, ultrasound can be quite aways off when it comes to estimating due dates.
Here's an example. I was charting for Natural Family Planning when we conceived, so I know the approximate time of ovulation. If I went by my last period, I would be over 38 weeks along right now, which would make my fundal measurements quite small for dates. But since I know that I am only 36 weeks, 6 days, and my due date is based on my time of ovulation, not my last period, the fundal measurements have lined up fairly well. If you already measured a tiny bit on the small side for dates and then had a due date that was even a week or two off that could be the culprit that is throwing off the measurements.
Hope that you figure things out!

Patrick, the baby I'm carrying now, was conceived at eight weeks postpartum, and the due date we have is from an ultrasound. She's done two and had the same date with both, so we're pretty sure that the date is correct.
My biggest fear is that I'm going to go early or something or that something happened when i fell.

Well, in that case, I hope that the baby was okay from the fall. I'm going to say a prayer for you and the baby. Let us know how things go!
Definately just get yourself checked thoroughly to set your mind at ease!
I feel flat on my belly on brick paving, split open my lip and cut my knee when about 31 weeks pregnant with my twins and we were fine.
The midwives told me at the time heaps of women come in hysterical after being in car accidents being in fear of their babies health/safety and there babies are fine because they are so protected in the fluid etc.
It's just always better to get all things of doubt checked.
Praying for you dear!

thanks for the prayers and concerns. while at the doc's yesterday, she measured me, and again measured 26-27 weeks, and she had me put my hands in fists and put under my back at my kidneys. then i measured perfect. she said with the extra weight I'm carrying this time (gained over sixty pounds this time around!) that I'm "hiding" my uterus. so everything was ok with that, and Patrick's heart is beating 172!
