Does anyone have any recommendations for a childrens bible (or bible story book) that my 3 1/2 year old might enjoy. He is always asking for us to read from a bible story book that we have - but it is really much too advanced for him. I want something at a level that he could understand - and something that will encourage discussion and family devotions. I read some good reviews for "The Big Picture Story Bible" by John Helm & Gail Schoonmacker and "The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name" by Sally Lloyd-Jones. Does anybody own either of these - or have another great one to recommend?
my son got this one (http://www.christian-mommies.com/forumsv4/) as a gift, and he loves it. We used to read it to him, and now he reads it himself.
I've never seen the others so I can't compare, but The Early Reader's Bible is nice - it has questions and things to think about, things you can do (application), so I think that it provides tools so they don't just read and forget - they actually have to think about it.
