This is just an FYI, I was told that I have this and I figure there might be some of you out there that have this too, but didn't know this was a real conditon.

After BF/pumping/cold my nipples will turn white because there is no blood circulation to them. It is painful and can last quite a few minutes. It is less common in the nipples (more common in the hands and feet). It is often misdiagnosed as a yeast indection, however when you look at your nipples when you experience the pain you will clearly see that there is no blood flow to your nipples and can watch the pinkness slowly come back. I went without diagnosis simply because I thought it was normal and finally asked about it thinking it could be a yeast infection. anyways since I found out about it I have been instructed to wear wool nipple pads (yes wool, and yes it itches) and to just keep them warm which has been such a lifesaver as I haven't had the pain except one time (I wasn't wearing my wool warmers :-D) since I was diagnosed with this.
Anyways I just thought this might save someone else the pain...

I have the condition. :???: I think I had it for years even as a child and didn't know it for quite a long time. I have less attacks since changing my diet and becoming a raw vegan. My nipples are not affected though. That is very interesting. I had never heard of it affecting the nipples. I pretty much count on my toes getting attacked if I have to be out in the ocl for very long, no matter what kind of layering or socks etc... I wear. My hand will be affected if I forget to wear gloves or handle frozen things. for instance getting the neck out of the turkey every year is always an issue for me. :-D

The thing that doesn't happen as often since my diet change is getting those spells of just being chilled to the bone while in my own home. I used to get suddenly so cold and have to take a warm bath to warm up. I would go into the tub to discover most of my toes were affected and I looked like a dead or dying person! [whatwacko]
